I read that as he's now out of the show

Seriously, best wishes to David and his brother, I had no idea that was going on in the background.

Me too, though I was still in cynical April Fools Day mode so it didn't scare me too much.

I'm glad they haven't made a big thing out of his brother's illness so far, and I hope they don't now. I don't like the sob story route that X Factor do, and David is too good to need the sympathy vote.

Hope David feels better ASAP, and best wishes to his brother too.

Best wishes to David and his brother - the show wouldn't be the same without David

Yes, he is still in the show.

He has been going through a tough time dealing with his brother's condition, but I'm sure he'll tough it out.

So far the word is yes he'll still be participating, as long as his blood pressure lowers, but it's an on-going thing and will be monitored closely this week, I'm sure he's resting today in an effort to appear on the results show. Best wishes to him and his family, I really hope it all works out, it would be a real shame to lose him at this stage But whatever decision he makes will be the right one

Sorry, I am confusing everyone. He is out of hospital, not out of the show.

Thank goodness for that. Thanks for the update. I was upset and sad when I read he'd been taken to hospital. It must be so hard and stressful for him coping with AI and whats going on with his brother at the moment. David, his brother and his family are in my thoughts

Someone said that its this week that they split them up into Top 3 Middle 3 and Bottom 3 vote wise. Fingers crossed that David's in the top 3 but from what I've heard a few of them were good this week so we'll have to wait and see

They might not but everyone on here is making a big thing about his brother's illness.

Seem they can't post without mentioning it!

Bland American rock and a ill family member - What a winning combination!

Poor guy, I hope he is OK. Makes you think, he's got all that going on and then everyone giving him such a hard time as well.

Exactly! No mention of his BROTHER in the thread title at all. - If you are going to have a go at someone, make sure you get it right or you end up shooting yourself in the foot like you have just done!

I know! It's disgusting how they exploit their private lives just to win a show.

Considering David hasn't mentioned his brother's illness once on the show or in interviews, I can only assume you're talking about people on the forum who mention Adam Cook's cancer? How would we be "exploiting" anything?
And how would that be disgusting if we are mentioning it?

Also..one of the publicized reasons for David being sent to hospital was that the stress of finding out this week that there was a major setback in his brother's condition contributed to David's blood pressure spiking. So, you know, mentioning that quite fits in on this thread.

Have a great day!

No. David Cook does not need a sob story to get him through. He is, IMO, by far the most talented contestant.
I really hope he is well enough to continue on with the show.

I agree with you that David certainly doesn't need a sob story or want one. His talent alone is definitely enough for him to win this show. To his credit he has not spoken publicly about his brother's illness and he has played down his own problems when asked about it by Ryan. It would be a great loss to the show and me too if he had to leave before he was eliminated.
