Don't know if anyone can help but I just got my first HD telly yesterday & am now going through the hell of reconnecting all the crap to it.

The new telly has 3 HDMI connections and am wondering if it is possible to connect my dvd player to it.

My dvd player has a ton of phono type connections at the back and am wondering if there is a lead that has these at one end and a HDMI plug at the other.

Any ideas?

No, you would need a new DVD player.

.... and, depending what the upscaler in your TV is like, may not get you any actual benefit at all by replacing it.

If it has 'a ton of phono' type connections, are some of those to allow it to connect via component? If so, thats probably your best bet using the current player ....

Yep thats what it has. Was hoping to connect it via the hdmi socket as I am using the component sockets on the tv for my Wii.

Looks like its another DVD player for me (might consider getting one of those home cinema packages as the current one is silver and the new telly is black & one always needs to be co-ordinated)

I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder connected via HDMI. Got a lot of interference connecting sky via a scart to my new LCD panel, this solved it.
