EZ-25 and hd

I have recently purchased an EZ-25 but I am having trouble viewing my cable V+ channel through it. I dont have an aerial and so dont use or want the freeview channels available with it. My Virgin box is connected to the tv by a hd lead. I have connected the dvd player to the virgin box and also to the tv by scart but still cant pick up the cable channels. There is an hd connector on the dvd recorder and I have tried connecting this to the spare hd connection on the tv. Where am I going wrong? Can anyone help this numpty?

Hi Earp_girl, you should have your cable box connected, tv out to the dvd recorder scart 2, then set the input channel on the recorder to scart/ av2. I would check that the scarts are correctly seated as only a fraction out will break the contact. Then connect the dvd to tv from scart/av1 or hd cable. When turning on to the dvd you may have to manually set the input channel into the tv by selecting the correct av or hdmi connection using your hand set.

Still no joy, sorry to say. My virgin box is configured to receive a signal from the tv via hdmi, do I need to amend that to receive through the scart lead if I wire this way?

Not knowing the virgin box, does it have 2 scart outputs as well as the hdmi output? If so I should have thought that the scart 2 should be for tv/dvd so should output via scart, even if the main output is via hdmi, but maybe someone who is familiar with this system could help. You could try resetting to scart and connecting both machines via scart, see if this works.
