I just discovered Baxters Tomato and basil soup recently it's absolutely gorgoues. It's not like Heinz's all textureless tomato soup it has loads of texture and you can actually bite bits of what I assume are tomatoes - mmmm.

Only problem is only Sainburys do it! Co-op don't, Asda don't, Tescos don't and neither do Morrisons! Grr will need to stock up next time I'm in Sainsburys.

Oh and I like Heinz lentil soup as well.

When i was knee high to a grasshopper we lived on a farm.
In mushroom season my dad would go shepherding and bring back a great big bucket of field mushrooms.
My mum put them in a massive pan with milk and black pepper and simmered them slowly all morning, then we had it for lunch.

I have never tasted anything comparable to it since,it was HEAVENLY!!!!

I also thought that this thread was about fresh soup. Apparently not. I never have tinned soup, I always make fresh.
I can almost taste your mushroom soup now, yumm

No, I don't know how to make fresh soup well apaprt from lentil and vegetable.

Apparently Baxters use only natural ingredients though which is why I like them.

Leek & Potato. A perfect match. Make it yourself if you grow your own, or buy it in packets.

If you are habing problems finding it, you could do what I do.
Get a tin of Heinz tomato soup, throw in a tin of chopped tomatoes add a spoonful of pesto, heat it all up and Bob is your uncle.
It's rather lovely.

My favourite bought soup is Baxter's pea and ham.
My favourite home made soup is one my other half makes with loads of vegetables, chicken stock, pieces of chicken and a handful of porridge oats.
It's divine.

Soup that my Mum used to make and that, no matter how much I try, I can't get the same taste.

Maybe it was because food somehow tastes different, when someone makes it for you.

It was tiny pieces of chicken, baby carrots, potatoes, small pieces of spaghetti type pasta, peas and of course, the stock.

Baxter's Chicken Broth is similar but Mum's was so much better.

It's this stock that I can't get right and now I'll never know what she actually used. I've tried and tried but nothing comes close.

She used to make a h-u-g-e potful, just for me, as she knew as soon as I saw it I'd have several large bowlfuls, along with lots of buttered bread or rolls. Then have more 'later' and then want the same the next day.

It was truly delicious and my favourite meal ever.

My mums home made veg soup, it is delicious!

I also like mushroom soup and some consommes.
I don't like tomoato, leak & potato, or carrot & corriander or chicken soup.

In fact now that I think about it, I'm not all that fussed on soup.
I do like minestrone!
