Exotic Fruit
Whats your favourite exotic fruit? Ive been trying a few lately and I really like Chikoos and Physalis along with the standard ones I already tried like mangos.

Sharon fruit are really nice, as are Persimon fruit as they're basically giant sharon fruit. Papayas are also quite nice, and very easy to prepare. They have a cluster of seeds in the middle but it's all soft like melon, so just cut in half and scoop the seeds out with a spoon.
A good mango is probably my favourite but they're a bugger to prepare! |

You just reminded me I saw dragon fruit in Morrisons the other day and wondered what it was, just googled it and glad I didn't get one now as the inside is white with black bits, would have been expecting something bright and juicy.

Morrisons is very expensive for Dragon Fruit, I saw them in there today, £1.98 each! You can get two for £1-£1.50 at a market if they have them, Leicester Market has some brilliant exotic fruit stalls. They are OK but if I paid £2 for one I'd be disappointed.
The inside is coloured a bit like watery milk, with black kiwi fruit like seeds randomly spread out, but no central "core" like kiwi. The flavour is quite nice but delicate. |

Pomegranates. I love them. The little red rubys inside always make me smile.

I adore Physalis (beautiful fragrant fruit, shame about the name!), Pomegranate and Papaya.
I would try any fruit and love finding varieties I haven't tasted before. |

A beautifully ripe, citrusy but sweet juicy mango.
