Right, I've just named one. It's called:

Vodka Fire and Ice.

Ingredients:

Ginger beer and vodka. That's it; really simple; really delicious if you like ginger beer and want an extra kick in it!
I first tried it about 4 years ago and no-one I've spoken to since had ever heard of it apart from the people I'd already told... Not to be confused with the whisky based drink "Fire and Ice" or the brandy based "Fire on Ice"

Right, now for the second one. I've just dreampt this one up in Tesco whilst not knowing exactly what I fancied tonight. I love it!

250 ml glass
1 shot vodka
1 shot cherry brandy
Fill up with lemonade
It would probably be better with ice, but I didn't have any!

There are lots of drinks with vodka and cherry brandy around, but I haven't found this recipe yet. It's probably too simply to have a name - but then "Bloody Mary", "Screwdriver"? They are even simpler, so I fancy giving this one a name. I propose to call it "Kickback"

If you like, you can have the "Nice Warm Cuddle" which I tried first:

1 measure cherry brandy
Fill up with lemonade (not chilled)

If you use ice you have to call it something else of course. It's quite a lot nicer than cherryade, I can tell you! You could call it a "Lemon Lola" (where they drink champagne and it looks just like cherry cola, Lo-lo-lo-lo-Lola..."). Actually, I don't like that name so another name for the iced version would be good.

Remember, if you can't Google it, it doesn't exist unless I've got it saved on my hard drive

Stick some lime in with your ginger beer and vodka and you've got a Moscow Mule

Really? I actually think I did that at Christmas, but I didn't know it was called that. I also did that but used coke instead of lemonade. That was nice, like a Cuban but with vodka instead of spiced rum A Ukrainian, perhaps?

Which is only worth drinking if it's call Summer Lightening or London Pride

True enough. I like a nice bloody mary. Lots of spice.

I used to like Pride. I had the obligatory dodgy pint about 5 years ago. I'd love to try again, but I'm just a bit wary.

It's quite safe for the most part, honest! I also had a bad one a few years ago - it does put you off, doesn't it? I've never had a really bad Summer lightening, though. I only know one local pub that serves it though, and because he's the only one he's very careful because he knows people will always remember which pub the bad pint came from if there ever was one!

I think he tastes, or gets a customer to taste, every barrel he puts on. He doesn't drink a lot himself, but I've had the honour a few times

Right, I'm now going to ask the mods to move this thread to the Food and Drink forum which is where it belongs. I didn't realise we had one until just now, so that's where this will probably be soon...

We make this at home.

Espresso Martini

for one cocktail
50ml vodka (stoli, absolut, etc, not smirnoff or cheap brand)
50ml of espresso (made by a proper machine)
50ml Kaluha
tons of crushed ice

Shake in cocktail shaker, serve in cold martini glass.

Simple but bliss.

I made this once or twice and it was very nice!

Apple sourz (I used Mickey Finn's)
Raspberry Absolut vodka
Cointreau
Top up with lemonade, in quite a large glass or you'll be on the floor in no time.

I didn't measure the ingredients properly but I'd guess 50ml Apple Sourz and 25ml or less for the other two. Feel free to experiment

I didn't name it but I guess it should be called something fruity. Actually, I dub this cocktail Something Fruity!

Oh there are loads of nice ales out there. I'm getting a bit bored of pride, but I love Doombar and Tim Taylors.

I'm not 60 though.

Two drinks I've been known to make.

Vodka topped up with Stella Artois, which I'm tempted to call the Headbanger (as my head has been banging all day!)

Whisky mixed with a Dandelion and Burdock alchopop (which also contains vodka). A good name for the that would be the Stomach Lining Evaporator.
