Sparks residency
I see Sparks will play a 21 night residency at the Islington Academy from May 16th playing a different album each night before moving to the Shephards Bush Empire and debuting their new album. I wish I could get to London for this , I was a huge Sparks fan at one time...any other fans out there ...which would be your pick of the gigs ?
For me it would be between Kimono My House, Propaganda and Indiscreet with Indiscreet probably winning out. List of albums and dates... 'Halfnelson/Sparks'(May 16) 'A Woofer In Tweeter's Clothing' (17) 'Kimono My House' (18) 'Propaganda' (20) 'Indiscreet' (21) 'Big Beat' (23) 'Introducing Sparks' (24) 'No 1 In Heaven' (25) 'Terminal Jive' (27) 'Whomp That Sucker' (28) 'Angst In My Pants' (30) 'In Outer Space' (31) 'Pulling Rabbits Out Of A Hat' (June 1) 'Music That You Can Dance To' (3) 'Interior Design' (4) 'Gratuitous Sax & Senseless Violins' (6) 'Plagiarism' (7) 'Balls' (8) 'Lil’ Beethoven' (10) 'Hello Young Lovers' (11) 'Untitled New Album'(premiere) (13) £350 quid gets you a "golden" ticket to all gigs. It must actually be difficult to play your entire back catalogue live, methinks the Mael brothers will have much "on the day" rehearsing to do. |
