24hr Laundry Hot Line!!?

Has Lindi had the most stupid idea in Apprentice history?

Loved how she was not backward in coming forward in telling Sir Alan it was her idea...and how she completely failed to see how ridiculous a suggestion it was.

What a completely stupid idea from Lindi!

Imagine being the customer and ringing the hotline...

"Erm hello, how are my y-fronts doing?"

What was she thinking?

And asking for a tip from the customers?
What a flaming cheek!

Yup - and this kind of la-la-land BS is spreading like a cancer eating away common business sense increasingly amongst each new generation of movers and shakers... scary times!

Yeah, I loved it
The girl def has confidence (or lacks the subtlety to pick up on the fact everyone thought it was stupid)
This week Lindi made a few blunders. It was her and Jenny that did most of the pricing and through lack of research (which wasnt their fault) got it completely wrong. And the idea to get tips wasn't the best method to profit maximise.
She always comes across as positive and very enthusiastic and I think she is a good team member. Much more pleasant than some of the malicious ones ...

I must say I wondered if I had misunderstood the task when I heard her coming out with that - thought maybe they were hiring out laundry equipment instead!

"Good evening, Alpha laundry, you're talking to Lindi, how may I help you?"

"Could you please tell me what colour my pants are now?"

"Eeeeew, you dirty little...!"

I agree with this. I think one of the problems for this years Apprentices is that most of them think of themselves as "executives" or people that generate ideas rather than get their hands dirty and just graft at a job. This means they waste incredible amounts of time having "strategy meetings" about "branding" and suchlike and this wasting of time fundamentally costs a team.

Indeed. I think Lindi certainly stands out for being the one who has ate several sales manuals for breakfast and somehow burps it all out in any old fashion.

She's like a two year old doing a shape puzzle and trying to squeeze a square into a circle.

I loved the look on the potential customers face when she suggested it. To say he didn't look impressed is a real understatement . He certainly didn't think it was worth £4799 more than he was currently paying for his laundry.

Lindi was so funny (unintentionally!)

With her ideas of getting tips, from the cock up of either overpricing and underpricing, to her 24 Hotline idea she was hilariously bad!! Shes lucky she didnt have to go in the boardroom, imagine trying to explain all that!

Yeah but if there is one girl you could rely on to explain herself well (and probably dump the blame on you in the process) I think it would have been her. I dont think Jenny wanted to face her in a showdown ... and most of Lindi's mistakes eg the hotel pricing was as a result of the lack of planning/Jenny's suggested pricing structure.

I thought it was a brilliant idea.

I've lain awake so many nights concerned over the status of my laundry. This service would have stopped all of that right away

It wasn't just a hotline - don't forget that you had direct mobile access to your 'Personal Account Manager' (2 of them no less)!

There's a video on the BBC website of unseen footage showing one of the boys (Michael?) making a crank phone call to the girls 'laundry hotline'. It's a bit cruel really!

I loved it when he said how much they were charging him which was several thousand too much and she chirps back 'Yes, but for that you get 24 hour access to us as your account managers!'

Lindi: "How may I help you?"
Customer: "What is the status of my pants, I need pants status ASAP!"
Lindi: "I'm just checki-"
Customer: "I need to know my pants status NOW! I need an update on my pant operational status! Quickly!"
Lindi: "I can't find your pants, sir."
Customer: "If I were Superman, you'd find my pants, FIND THEM! I NEED MY TO KNOW THE STATUS OF MY PANTS GODAMNIT WOMAN!"

I know - they kind of said there were MANY extra features but all they had to do is give out their mobile number and dress up in customer sales bull.
