I have a 2 year old Samsung HD tv with just one HDMI input which is already being used for Sky HD. I also have an Xbox using the component in sockets.

I now want to get an HD DVD player but don't know where to plug it in!! What options do I have open to me (short of buying a new TV!)

Cheers

Simon

Get an amp with multiple HDMI inputs and a single HDMI output, which you connect to your telly.

Watcha Simon, You can buy a HDMI splitter box

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-PORT-HDMI-SW...QQcmdZViewItem

Buy it online thou, as getting it from the shops can set you back anything between 45 & 70 quid

Thanks boys - the HDMI splitter box seems a good, cheap solution. Is the quality ok? Are they easy to use?

Try this a bit more money but if u live near a maplin you can take it back when faulty etc.

and you say you only want the 2 inputs

Just to point out the OP doesn't need a splitter. The linked devices are switches which is what he needs.

OP doesnt need an HDMI splitter if he has a component connection on the tv.

I have a 2 year old samsung with 1 hdmi connection for my ps3 and connect the sky HD using component. Results are as good as hdmi.

Problem solved

thanks Nigel, i'm going back in my cage now to do some punishment laps on my wheel.

Silly hamster.

1 question, why do you want an HD DVD player? Are'nt they a bit "old skool", lol

Have to admit - not really sure! It's just a pain in the arse swapping DVDs and games in the xbox!

I'm very lazy!!!
