I really like David i think hes going to win, clearly. Shame he has pushy parents, if what ive been reading has any truth to it!!

Shame hes a mormon too but i guess you can't have everything

The competition is rubbish this year. And it was rubbish last year.

Do you think? I'm not so sure, I think he could do a Melinda and get booted before the final. I definitely don't think David A has it in the bag at this point, David C will give him a good run for his money.

I do think it'll be a battle of the Davids in the finals...and with the schmaltzy, sugary sweet song they usually have to sing...David A may have a leg up.

That's what they said about Gareth Gates. David A is the saccharine sweet, trained for this from birth, US equivalent of Gates: a pop-muppet.

dont think anything is for certain, the only thing that i think is certain is that a male will win,

Michael has a chance too

It is reasonably open I think and there are there are 7 shows left. We could have some upsets on the way.

I suspect David C is going to really give him a run for his money.

I hope so, but since the last X factor, I wouldn't count on anything

Exactly, I mean remember the odds for Rhydian? They were taking bets without Rhydian he was so "obviously" the winner. And Melinda last year.
It's still early days, and I dont' think that he may have peaked to early with "imagine". Now it's a fairly big peak so will take a while to go down, but I really dont' think that he has it wrapped up.

David Cook however is really building momentum. I personally can't stand his type of music, but the amount of people who said to me that they thought his "Billie Jean" was the best thing they've ever seen. (Casual viewers who I force to watch this everyweek! )

I think that whishy washy let's pretend that I wrote it, David Cook is going to win.

He is bland with his mid-Atlantic trendy rock.

I didn't know David A is a Mormon - Let's hope he grows out of all that dangerous nonsense when he grows up.

So it will be a David C and David A final with Mr, I didn't write the songs that make the whole world sing, I just make out I did, David Cook winning.

Bland Rock is America all over.

In one post you manage to slag off David Cook, America, the Mormons, and the mid-Atlantic trendy rock.
You are doing quite well LOL

Sadly I think its true. Even when he's really bad like last week he is still really popular. He only has to carry on at the mediocre level he is at to win

Sad, because Simon will give him the contract whether he wins or not - he's just Simon's type, plastic and pliant. I really don't think David A has a great voice, it does nothing for me.

But he might not win because as other people say there are often upsets - Fantasia won against a more obvious 'winner' and she is probably the best clue that David C could steal the crown.

I like Carly and Michael but neither are American and the male judges seem to dislike both of them most of the time and Carly generally chooses unpopular songs.

The same can equally be said of David Cook. Even when he was really bad like THIS WEEK, he is still really popular.
He only has to carry on with his mediocre Bland Rock to win.

Ah I see!

So anyone singing bland rock is genuine and a real person and kool, whilst anyone who sings ballads is a muppet trained from birth?

Only slightly biased there.

I agree that there is a recording future for the boy, and probably a life time job at Disney. I can even see him doing one of those horrible, Mom the Flag and Apple Pie TV shows, about a fictional boy just like him.

As for winning AI, Cowell may have realised something from Leona Lewis; quality = longevity. People will buy quality in much greater numbers and for much longer than anything he could do with the usual X-Factor/ AI winner. That lights up the dollars signs. On that basis, David C could well be the man for the job this year.

O thing you've misunderstood me, and underestimated the Davids. We cannot compare like with like here, as the Davids are aimed at different markets.

David A, I believe, is exactly what and who he presents himself to be. He can sing very well. But I would fall off my chair in surprise if he were to become a great singer songwriter, such as Billy Joel. David A will always be a vehicle for the songs of others. This is not a put down, just a view of what he can achieve. He could have a string of number one records, doing what he's told, being the pop-poppet. A 21st century David Cassidy. If he drops the cheesy smile.

David C, has the more emotive voice. Each week, his performance looks like an out-take from a David C concert, and although, as he made very clear this week, he is choosing the arrangements of others most of the time, I get the strong impression that he could develop into a light rock singer-songwriter. Perhaps a John Cougar Mellencamp, or a Brian Adams for today.

I believe AI has recognised what happened with Daughtry, and know the potential. So now might be the time that David C can actually win, as opposed to David A who from day one looked like the Chosen One.

I don't get the David A love to be honest. When he sings he sounds like he's got a really bad cold.

unfortunately i think he will win because of the girl votes hes going to get and lets remember their voting system is free over there

It doesn't really matter who wins, it is the exposure that matters. The producers will manipulate the contestants they want into the final 4....the obvious 3 are David A, David C and Carly....Brooke is probably number 4.
I am not saying these four don't deserve to be there....other, better performers never even made the top ten, and the best vocalist was gone 2 weeks age...out of those left, I do think they all have some talent and each will be marketable after they are signed, which they all will be. That is what the show is really about...promoting artists who the company wants to sign anyway.....the show is a marketing test and tool in one. The chosen ones will make the final four, not to win necessarily, but because that will gain them the most exposure...as long as 3 of the 4 they want make it, they are pretty much guarenteed the top 2 they want, and of those, it matters little who wins.
It's all about those weeks of performing and getting interest from the people who will buy their music. Top 4 will pretty much give them that.

I really dislike David A's performances. He looks like a lost little boy. His nostrils flare all the time, and well I hope to God he doesn't win. Not that it would matter if he did, I just can't see him having world wide success.

He is definitely the chosen one. Which makes me dislike him even more.

rant over. lol

I don't get him either, he seems like a nice enough kid when he doesn't sing but he looses the spontaneity of a 17 year old during his performances.
