As opposed to David Cook who has never had the bottle to actually do ANYTHING AT ALL EVER that isn't bland rock.

I mean good god, if you are going to do rock, then do rock! Not that bland pretentious nowhere rock.

So when David Cook does bland rock AGAIN! all he ever gets is praise whereas David A gets attacked for having the bottle to come out of his comfort zone.

(Please don't bother with the usual David C will only ever be doing bland rock so never needs to sing anything else as that's getting old.)

i dont mind david archuleta even though im a david cook fan
and i certainly dont feel the need to post vitriolic remarks about him like some posters on this thread have about david c.i thought the two davids performances were the best last night.i do like brooke but shes lost momentum the past couple of weeks and i think michael and carly will suffer through not being american,fair or not.

I'm not so sure Michael will suffer, he seems very popular on the American based boards I've been looking at, Carly, I think could be in trouble not too far into the future, she doesn't appear to have people warming to her, despite a really good performance this week.

Hope Brooke pulls it together, really want her to do well

yes i lik brooke and carly of the remaining girls..i find kristy and syesha a bit dull.i still miss amanda i LOVED her!great blues voice.

They looked mean but I think that he wants to help her and that he thinks thats he isn't as popular that she should be, may be because if her outfits.

I did completely miss what Simon said (there was a bottle of wine to be opened ) but we both remarked during her performance that her outfit was jarring with the style and feel of the song.

i like the way she dresses,shes a casual dresser and i dont think shed feel comfortable dressed like a tart.i remember simon dribbling over hayley scanarto last season with her mini skirts and high heels.it did her no favours with the female voters in the long run.carlys an attractive lady and dresses like you or i would.(if your female obv)
i like simon very much btw,love his sarky comments but just found his critique of carlys clothes a bit nit picky.

I don't get David A at all..... I don't get his voice..... his performances..... his popularity...... In fact, I don't GET his very existence on the show?

I don't think David Cook was really bad this week. It wasn't a good song and he made it work. It was quite nice

I don't dislike Archeluta by the way. I love his voice but some of his performances have been very mediocre and he still gets praised.

David Cook hasn't ever been really recenlty that bad or forgotten his words in the same way Archeluta did. When Cook was bad in the first couple of top 24 performances he got a roasting

He did great this week. I think what people like about him is that he doesn't sound like anyone else. His voice is very unique.
Michael Johns did surprisingly well too.

I agree with that. I'd love to say David C will win, as he clearly is the favourite and been consistently good each week, but then Rhydian was the favourite and miles better than everyone on the show and he still came second to Leon (of all the contestants!!)

I think about 4 weeks back, David A did look like the favourite to win but the tides clearly turned for him. He's nowhere near as popular as he once was.

I agree that David A is not as popular as he once was and that David C is gaining momentum but unfortuantely as the voting is free in the US David A's fans will vote consistently for two hours for him whereas I think a lot of David C's supporter will vote just a few times. David C does have some fans who will vote continuously for him but I'd say that David A has a lot more and that could make the difference if they were both there at the end. If they had to pay for their votes like we do then I think that David C would have a much better chance of winning

I actually think David Cook would rather not win. He's used to having a band and I think he'd be even better with a band behind him. If he won he probably wouldn't be allowed to, so I reckon he just wants to build the fan base and second place would be perfect for him. I'm also pretty sure he wouldn't want the winner's song attached to him, as, lets face it, we know what kind of song it will be!

I have to admit, it did make me laugh a little imagining David C trying to figure out a way to rock out on whatever this season's incarnation of the song 'Do I mAke You Proud With My Moment Like This Now' will be.

I think that David is in it to win it. His latest album was solo and apparently he has another one in the bag solo also so I don't think he needs a band behind him although this is where he started out.

I hope that if he does make the final he will be allowed to do whatever he has to to make the idol single work for him. However, its too early to say whether he'll get that far but I personally hope he does. If he's not there I'll be very disappointed and would probably not watch

I just looked at some of the betting sites trying to get some decent odds on David A to win. I was hoping for around 2-1 or maybe 3-1 but the best odds are currently 4/5

Which means that David A is clearly the favourite with the bookies, if not on DS.

I'm absolutely 100% convinced he's going to win this year and have been from the moment I first saw him. And deservedly so

I'd love to see him in a final against David C but I fear there may be another Daughtry-like shock and one of the far inferior singers such as Brooke or (heaven forbid) Carly might make it instead of David C

But whoever's in the final I expect David A to clean up big time

I dont think he deserves to win just cos people think he is 'cute', there are at least 2 males who have better voices that him - David Cook and Michael Johns.

I agree! And a couple of females too. I still think he'll win though. His fanbase is huge and a lot of them are the sort of people who'll vote a million times if it ensures him the win.

One thing that might stop the Archuleta express train is that:
if say the final three is David A, David C and Michael Johns (which is looking probable at the mo) and either David C or Michael Johns are then knocked out, the other will probably up most of the 3rd place guy's votes as they are both rock(ish) and appeal to a similar audience IMO.
