3G sim card in non 3G phone
Hi
![]() Not really being clued up on mobile phones and networks I have what is probably a silly question... I currently have a 3g sim card being used in my 02 cocoon mobile. I'd like to change to a different mobile and am not bothered about all of the 3g features - SO, if I choose a phone which is not 3g enabled, will my sim card work in it or will I have to request a non 3g one? Thanks for any advice. Scott |

A 3G simcard will work in a 2G phone as long as the sim is not on the 3 network.

Most networks only give out 3G sims now. A 3G sim will work as normal in a 2G handset, although there are some myths flying around about 3G sims damaging 2G handsets and the other way around - they're not true
