Hi, I wonder if any kind person could help me on something?

I have a monthly contract with 02, which I am more than happy with, the plan is great and suits me totally. Its an 18 month one, and Im about seven months into it.

The problem I have is my phone. I deteste it. Its so crap, un friendly to use, irritating, its just plain ugly. (Its a sony erricson k850i).

What I want to know is, that if I buy a handset, from say a phone place, as a pay as you go, on 02, could I then put my pay monthly SIM in, and use that as my mobile handset?

This one is really doing my head in, and I dont mind paying for another handset, but I just want rid of this monster !!

Thanks for any advice

well it looks to me like it hasn't been finished, you know like and old phone but the keypad's fallen off.

nonetheless it is considered state of the art and you could expect 200 quid for it. if you just find a second had phone shop, walk in with it, you'll walk out with at least 150 quid, more if you have the box and stuff.

No. When you get your new handset just call customer service and they will contact O2 Insure to update your IMEI to your new handset.

Far from it. Its very sensible. Too many people do stuff and then regret it. Its far better to ask and make sure.

When you get your new phone, it will have the settings for O2 PAYG. You will need to get the contract settings. Either sent to you from the website or it may be a menu option on the phone.
