Does anyone have any good recipes for stir-fries, I fancy something quite healthy with lots of veg, and quite simple to make.....

Thanks

Stir-frys must be one of the first things i learnt to make whne i was at uni. Dont need a recipe, just chuck any veg you have in a pan, the right size so it cooks at the same time, soya-sauce, herbs. Have the rice ready to do. Have it with meat of your choice, and with bacon, thats nice. Mushrooms nice for moisture too, especially if their shitake or something.

Soya sauce is quite salty (not taste but content), but its fine if you dont just eat processed food elsewhere which is majorly salt as a preservative.

Salts not bad for you in moderation.

You could also use nam pla for bami goreng.

Nam pla is fish sauce in English. It is a Vietnamese word. You buy it in the supermarket in a little bottle.

It is very salty so use sparingly. When I first got some I tipped a lot in and then found my dinner was inedible.

Oyster sauce is VERY good on a stir fry.
Sautee some ginger and garlic and spring onions.
Add chicken pieces/prawns/beef, peppers, onions, broccoli etc Season
At the end add about 2/3 tablesppons of oyster sauce and toss ingredients.

I just use whatever veg is in season.
2 important things
(1) always prepare the veg into similar size strips before you start stir frying
(2) make sure your wok is scorchingly hot before you start cooking.
if it takes you more than 5 minutes from the time you start cooking till a stir fry is on your plate, it is taking too long !!

Well, I made the recipe suggested by newkid30 and highly recommend it !! Had it with pak choi, butternut squash, cashew nuts, pepper, broccoli and sugarsnap peas. Think I'm going to have it again tonight
