I've had a Yamaha DSP-A595a for about eight years now.

I think about two or three years ago I noticed the the sound would just cut out whilst playing films or music whilst it was set to the DVD/LD mode. This cut out was similar to when the amplirier switches modes, which is complete silence for one or two seconds. During a standard film this would happen regularly, at times that played perfectly years ago.

But just now whilst I was doing some ironing, I was listening to an audio CD, when the iron wire brushed against the amp, then the sound just cut out.

All the settings seemed ok after investigation, but now where the input mode used to be on the digital displa,y it says Data Error and I get no noise from the CD on the DVD/LD mode. Other modes seem unaffected.

Does this scenario seem familiar to anyone?
