Help With New Sony RDR-HX870 HDMI DVD Recorder
I have just purchased the above to mainly archive SKY+ recordings on to disc/HD.
I am not sure exactly how to set it up to get the best results. I have a newly purchased Samsung PS50C96HDX 50in plasma. Please can you assist me with getting the best from my TV and recorder. Also, I am getting SKY HD soon and moving my SKY+ box into the conservatory. If I was to move the recorder into the conservatory would I still be able to use it to record SKY if I don't have a normal outside ariel feed to the conservatory? If not will it still record from the SKY HD box? Cheers Lee |

Sky+ TV scart ---> DVDR AV2 (to archive from Sky+ set DVDR input to be AV2, leave it there)
DVDR HDMI out ---> TV HDMI in Once youve changed to SkyHD - Sky HD HDMI ---> DVDR HDMI in (to archive from SkyHD set DVDR input to be HDMI in, leave it there) DVDR HDMI out ---> TV HDMI in DVDR HDMI out ---> TV HDMI in To use your Sky+ box fully in the conservatory you will need a full pair of cables from the Sky dish (this is multiroom). When archiving from SkyHD you can only use scart or S-Video out. |
