I make my own chinese marinade to cook pork ribs in the oven

it contains
6 tbsp soy
1 inch grated ginger
4 garlic cloves
500ml chicken stock
3 tbsp rice vinegar
3 tbsp sugar
1 star anise

i cook the ribs for about 90 mins at about 180 degrees then reduce the stock on the hob - mmmmmmm

but im tired of this now and i have some ribs to cook tonight - can anyone give me any ideas for new home made BBQ sauce please?

damn this should be in food - how do i tell a mod?

BBQ Ribs With A Twist

I guarantee that these ribs will have your Family and Friends coming back for more! This is a very modern bbq recipe version off of an old classic. Enjoy!

2 pounds Parboiled Pork Ribs
1 cup Apple Sauce
2 cups Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Lemon Juice
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Paprika
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

In a large pan thoroughly mix apple sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder and cinnamon.
Over medium to high heat, bring the sauce to the boiling point and continue boiling for one to two minutes.

Place parboiled ribs in an ovenproof dish and brush liberally with the sauce.

Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Turn ribs over and liberally bush the underside with the remaining sauce.

Continue baking uncovered for 45 minutes. Serves up to four people.
Servie big ole glasses of Ice Tea and Baked beans and watch people fall out like stuff pigs!

any use or not what you were looking for?

Finger Licken' bbq sauce (think it's an Ainsley Harriot one)

1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 small onion, very finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tbsp clear honey/golden syrup
4 tbsp tomato ketchup
4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp English mustard
2 tsp Tabasco sauce
+I add chilli as we like them *hot*!

^Saute all that to make a thick sauce.

Coat meat in flour seasoned with salt and pepper before spooning on the sauce (it really does make the coating stay on better!). It's a nice quick one as there's no need to marinade.
