I have samsung lcdhd tv connected to sky+ via scart, dvd connected via hdmi cable, should tv ariel be connected to back of tv or sky+box, will this affect built in freeview quality

It shouldn't make any difference but in any case there's no point in going into the Sky first so just go straight into the TV. The only reason for taking an aerial into Sky is if you are going to be using the RF out of Sky to distribute to another room for instance.
