Looking for a 37" to 42" TV

Hi guys,

I do not know what to look for in a HDTV, so was looking to get some expert advice from you lot.

I am looking for a new TV, anything from 37" up to 42" (personally wouldn't like to go that big but the Mrs doesn't mind).

I have a budget of £600, can anyone recommend anything for me?

The only thing I want from it, is it to look nice aesthetically

I would go for one of the Toshibas like the 37X - 42X or the 37Z - 42Z because there getting cheaper.

In that case why not just get a nice picture and hang it on the wall.

Ive just bought the Panasonic TH37PX80B which is a Plasma 37" - looks fantastic and gets rave reviews.

You can get it for £625 from Sound & Vision in Bolton but I obtained it from John Lewis on a Price Match deal and also got the JL 5 year warranty included.

Plasma, generally, has a superior picture quality to LCD and handles motion better, so if you`re into motor sport, football etc. it will provide better performance. Although LCD is getting better all the time.

have you thought about one of these

I have an earlier model but they look great and perform very well, especially for the price. Have a read of the reviews.

Hope you don't mind me hijacking this thread

I am planning on buying this: http://www.dixons.co.uk/product.php?...rmationSection
unless anyone can advise me of a better offer. I would appreciate opinions/comments.
I have Sky HD and a PS3 - I also have a seperate surround sound system.

Thanks in advance and apologies again for hi-jacking (but it does fall into ScubaSteve21's price and size range )

Go for it Sean, i've seen one in action and unless you want to go for the bigger plasma the 37" is a great performer, especially on sky.

At £499 thats good value for money for all that kit.

How about £130 extra for the M86 which is 1080p for the PS3?
