BB4 loses 2 million viewers year on year

From today's Media Guardian:

Big Brother 4 is drawing to a close with a solid audience - even if its ratings are well below those of last year's show.

Last night's edition was watched by 4.5 million viewers and had a 22% audience share. Big Brother 4's audience has held at this level for most of its two month run.

On the same night in Big Brother 3, the show attracted 6.4 million viewers.

4.5m is still great for C4 and sharewise it was only second to BBC1. It will be interesting to see how the final night's ratings compare.

Any truth in the rumours that Gigi Exec-producer woman has been seen in her local job centre?

even though I have enjoyed this years, I think Phil Edgar Jones, should be Exec again.

But but but I heard the housemates say that they were all interesting and great and that this would be the most popular Big Brother yet...

Yes, they are ok for ch 4. but BB is one of CH 4's flagship shows and should be getting similar to last year really.
A 30% drop in ratings is not good at all.

Neither is a 40% drop in voting revenue.

I don't think he has ever been the big cheese. In BB 2 he was the producer of the friday night show and also BBLB, last year he was second in command as Helen Hawkin was the big boss.
The exec producer seems to change every year,so with any luck that will be the end of Gigi Whats her name.

the figures for the majority of the series have been identical to last year. Yes the final week is lower but by this time last year the whole Jade backlash had happened, the hopes of the first female BB winner were making things exciting and all the housemates had large fan bases.

This years main problem has been that the housemates failed to gel as a group in the same way as the previous three years. That viewing figures have stayed so high is a major achievement, but they do need to get a good bunch of housemates next year in order to keep the show going.

Let's hope that they get it right for BB5.

It was good up until the double eviction - and then it was botched beyond repair.

It was forth out of four but still head and shoulders ahead of most other reality shows. (and 5th out of 6 if you count the CBBs)

I'm not sure that the BB3-ers gelled as a group. Two groups perhaps.......

I think viewers will lose interest during Friday's evictions. Once they know who's placed 4th and 3rd and whenever Jon comes out, that's it - off to the pub.

All those people who said Cameron was chosen right from the start and he wins, all their tvs will go off.

Just my opinion.

Ray - 4th
Steph - 3rd
Scott - 2nd
Cameron - 1st
