Speaking for myself and some of the other DS members whose posts I've been enjoying on this thread, there's clearly a real affection and respect for what those little fellas are doing. I am not comparing, and they most probably will not get any part in the show, according to the casting director, as Fagin's gang will be cast within the London area. However, new Oliver auditions will be held this June, unless I'm mistaken.

Hey Alienpak - you shouldn't really be using the childrens surnames on these forums. They dont use them on the show - please dont use them here. Thanks

I'm actually really nervous about Saturday, I really want Jonny or Gareth (prefer Jonny but I think Gareth's hard work means he deserves it just as much) to get through. The looks on four of the boys faces is going to be almost heartbreaking.

I know how you feel, so do I! And not just because four of them definitely won't be Oliver, but also because they have formed such a lovely bond (or at least, so it seems) and then the four that didn't go through have to leave! .
I mean, these kids lived in the same house 4 days a week (unless I'm mistaken) for the past 2 months. So I guess they're all dreading this moment.
Well actually, come to think if it, it's Wednesday today, so by now, they already KNOW!

One of them is probably already through Oh it's going to be so sad, I don't want to see it. Well I do, I want to know who's through of course, but those four boys.

It really is going to be heartbreaking on Saturday. I will be overjoyed if Jonny gets through but it will be incredibly gutting if someone like Gareth doesn't get through, since he's put in so much effort and has enjoyed everything they've done. If I could, I'd replace him with Arthur.

Although some of the boys that are left are not my favourites, I have a feeling I'm going to cry as it's going to be heart-wrenching seeing their faces knowing they've not got through. Saturday night for me is going to be dreadful. I've really taken these boys to heart. (Especially Jonny)

You know, I'm such a big cry baby, I'm already sitting here teary eyed just because I realise they know now and oh... the consequences...

Hopefully it'll be dealt with in the nicest possible way. I don't really think there is a nice way though! I think eight boys should have just gone through in the first place, wouldn't have to see anyone's disappointed faces!

Oh I know, don't get me started. I'd be happy if either Gareth or Jonny goes through, but it'll be horrible to watch any of them being disappointed. I'll be interested to see how well (or badly?) the BBC will tackle it.

Ok. You said further up when asked if you were talking about this thread or You Tube, "both actually".

That's a real shame. I read somewhere on the board that they were all gonna get a part so I feel really gutted for the unsuccessful ones.

Still, they've all had a life-changing experience and hopefully it's in the best way.

Yes, I also really want to see how they handle this one. And I hope the boys are properly taken care of behind the scenes as well.

I want Jonny to go through, he is the one with star quality - cool and calm while on stage

I presume that's to find a "seperate" gang, since due to working hours they won't be able to do eight shows a week.

So basically Monday, Wednesday and Friday may be the winners of this show with one show a week, and the other children are in the gang.

And the other nights are filled with other children, which are seperately cast. I read something like over 100 children were in the cast of Chitty Chitty at any time - so it's clear that 12 won't be enough to fill the show.

From what I understand, the three winners of the show will be only ones playing Oliver. At least for the first couple of months.
As for Fagins gang; it could (should) still be that the remaining nine from this show get a part in the gang, but, like you said, they won't be able to do 8 shows a week, so more kids are needed for these parts.

Thanks for clearing that up.

What a consolation prize for the remaining boys. A part on a west end stage is surely going to take the sting out of losing. Let's hope it's true. If it is, how lovely that they'd already have a bond that will help them in the rehearsals and the undoubtedly terrifying first night. I know if I was one of the three Olivers, familiar faces around me would be really important.

This YouTube thing is getting way out of hand... The things these kids are saying... I just watched last weeks mission again, just because I thought it was so much fun -especially Alexanders "River Thames comment" - and glazing over the comments I couldn't help but read something some girl wrote about Chester that was so , it left me feeling just shocked. Made me wonder if she realises she talking about a 12 year old and also how old this girl is herself. I don't even dare to repeat it:
see for yourself

I read those earlier, and I'm with you, I was absolutely shocked. I'd say the girl was only around the same age as Chester and I was just Thoughts like that concerning a 12 year old boy shouldn't be entering anyones head, let alone a young girls.

Oh, I've seen a few more in the same vein. Nowadays I kind of make a conscious effort not to look at the comments when I go on youtube because most of them are a) hysteric b) disturbing and c) illegible. I guess those people just see the kids as eye candy (which for me is wrong - they're all pre-pubescent kids! - but if you're 12 yourself then.... :/), rather than real people with real feelings who are all at an impressionable age.

You're right, but still.... Hey, I've been 12 too (and am guardian to a 12 year old at the moment), and know all about the crushes kids have at this age. I've had many But there's a huge difference between a adolescent crush and the rather disturbing way these kids look at the boys...
But I think not reading the comments anymore is the way to go for me too...

Still, not comparing, though. This is a forum with an overwhelming amout of sane comments.

I heard the Olivers who are left behind will be passed to Jo Hawes, who's casting, and might play the part later.
