I'm sure Jordan will go onto other things. He has the enthusiasm and is very talented. He wasn't right for Oliver, but there are loads of other parts he would be perfect for!

Yeah I think that is his name, plays one of the Tall Boys anyway.

I would agree that Chester is a dead cert for the final three.

I think Gwion and Arthur are a little too young, but, if one of them went through, I'd definitely prefer to see Arthur over Gwion.

Harry mugs too much and just doesn't have the vulnerability I'd expect to see for the part. He's more Dodger than Oliver.

Kwayedza's voice is on the verge of breaking, so I can't see them picking him.

Who does that leave? Alex, Laurence and Jonny. I think Alex and Laurence should go through, but I have a feeling Jonny will get into the last three; for me, he's just a bit 'empty-eyed' in his performances, whereas the other two have a spark.

So, I guess I'm saying Chester, Alex and Laurence.

Why is that remarkable? Unless you're related to him LOL

I find he has less of the spark some of the other kids have - like Harry, Alex, Lawrence and Jonny who have appealed to me more and have made more of an impression (in my opinion.)

Yup, Alex's brother plays a Tall Boy in Billy

lol, I was just about to say the same! Admittedly, it wasn't Chester's best vocal performance.

I'm really curious at how they're going to do this next week. Are CM & ALW going to announce the winners on the show, or will they be decided mid-week like usual? If so, and if Jonny isn't chosen, it would seem a bit of a bummer for him to be a finalist for 3 days! Either way, I really really hope they'd allocate more than the usual time to those boys. But I have a feeling it would be the same 5 minute segment again.

EDIT - and spacebard, I agree with your pick - although I'd rather see Gwion than Arthur.

I agree with you here. I'd like them to be announced on the show, I think it'll be a little more 'special'. I know I said Chester is the only one I think will definitely get a place, but I have a feeling Jonny might get one too just because he was put through last. Not sure if that makes sense, I've just got a feeling! Also hope they get more than five minutes - really look forward to the Olivers and I often take more interest in them than then Nancys (not in a perverted way )

Well, I don't think I am We do have the same hair and eye colour however
Just thought it was, because I haven't heard/read it before. It seemed to me like EVERYONE thought Chester was flawless, so for me, your comment stood out.

I think, for dramatic effect, they'll announce them on the show. They probably WILL do it in the usual five minutes though...

That's my feeling too - I think the order they were put through was deliberate, so that the final 3 were equally balanced out. It's a shame that there isn't another heat (the supposed semi-final) because then there is one week for all of them to get into a level playing field again.

I really hope Gwion gets a place in the final 3. I'm not as good at overanalysing as some of you, but I generally think he is the most suited to the role of Oliver. I'm just drawn to him when I'm watching the group performances - he has something about him - I think he's a good wee actor, and he does have a brilliant voice. If they're willing to have an Irish Nancy then I don't see why they couldn't have a Welsh Oliver.

I've just watched I Have A Dream again (that was on YouTube quick!) and I'm in tears. It's just adorable, all of them in their little caps. I'm so soppy!

And I know I said I though Jonny was great in it earlier, but admittedly that wasn't his best performance. He was clearly nervous.

Arthur seems like a fun kid. If he could be taught how to use his singing voice properly, I think he could play Oliver.

Exactly my thoughts. I think either Gwion or Chester will definitely get the role just because of the order, and then someone from the middle like Alex will get the part, and then maybe Jonny or Laurence. Just a feeling though

Yep, as is the part where the 8 Olivers were introduced (loved that bit!) Very quick!

They always put the Oliver performances on first before all the Nancys' performances - they know how to supply demand

Glad they put the interview VT on too.

you make a good point... they have 6 months to train these kids up and, children do learn fast, that would be more than enough time to correct Arthur's 'straining'. He seems like a real individual and has a lot of spark about him. Arthur is one of the youngest and yet was still put through while others like Joseph and Sam were 'not ready' so CM obviously sees something there. Perhaps Arthur isn't as much of an outsider as we think?

Actually I do have to say, the small part Arthur sang in I Have A Dream was his best yet I thought. And he's a real cutie - but I still think he's the weakest there, but to be fair he is the youngest too. However, as you say, there's 6 months to train him.

I know exactly what you mean. I am pretty sure that Cameron had picked his 8 before the show started. And he must have had some idea of his final 3 (although I am sure he was also interested in seeing how they handle the live shows). I don't believe for one minute that Cameron was influenced by the missions (or at least that was not his deciding factor). And he wouldn't want to give the game away by selecting his strongest candidates all at once (keep the betters guessing). So I thought it would make sense for his favourites to be spread out.

I do think it would be a bit pointless for Jonny if he is not one of the Olivers as he will only have had 1 week where he was potentially Oliver.

I really do hope they spend more time on the Olivers. After all, there are only 4 Nancys left. And Barry did say to Niamh that the most important parts of the musical, is Oliver and the boys .
