Fantasitc performance from all of them tonight. No doubting that they will all do a fantastic job, and agree with ALW that whoever you see, you will get a great performance. Loved Laurence's reaction, crying before he found out. Absolutely gutted about Rachel though.

Duets next week but I don't like any remaining Nancys

I wonder which Oliver will be paired with which Nancy?

I could see Harry and Jodie making a good pair, but I'd quite like Gwion to sing with Jodie...

Watched it again and I stick to what I posted earlier. I thought that was truly wonderful! All three of those boys sang beautiful. I loved Gwion! He really put a lot of emotion into that performance. Harry showed the same vulnerability and warmth he did on that West End stage. And I think I've never heard him sing like he did tonight. However, I'm still having some trouble getting used to the image of him as Oliver. To me he's still just more of a Dodger than an Oliver. Laurence's performance was pure and beautiful as always.

However I missed the other boys too (and Chester especially ) and agree that there was something wrong about seeing them without their hats on. I would have really really loved to have heard all the boys sing 'Where is love'. Not just a snippet like we saw yesterday, but a proper part of it. Especially since CM claims that's what his final decision was based on.

Hmm... Gwion and Laurence never got to mention their favourite Nancys, and Harry was backing Niamh and Rachel! So I have no idea. I think I might like to see:

Samantha/Laurence
Jessie/Gwion (they may be incomprehensible, though )
Jodie/Harry (the best actors & would probably make a very entertaining pair)

I'm still quite annoyed that we never got to see Cameron commenting on the other 5 boys - they deserve it, and I would like to hear him justify his choice. I wonder if they'd be back for the final - and not just singing in the background.

hmmm I seem to remember Laurence saying he liked Jodie and Sarah the best in the vt before Harry and Sarah's duet.

I actually think Jodie would work best with all three Oliver's than either Sam or Jessie (and I'm far from being a Jodie obsessive!)

I think the best partnerships would be:

Harry with Jessie - they'd be a great pairing of equals. His confidence will go well with Jessie's fun-loving feistiness. (I first thought he'd go best with Jodie but then couldn't see Jessie with either of the others, so by default she's with Harry).

Lawrence with Sam - they both have a shyness to them that I think will be a complement. Sam's gentle Nancy would probably be quite a comfort to Lawrence's Oliver. These would be the two tragic innocents.

Gwion with Jodie - Gwion's cuteness will be really evident next to Jodie's maternal, warm-heartedness. I also think his weirdly mature self-assurance will contrast nicely with that slightly neurotic vulnerability she has. He'll bring out her softness. (Harry could equally be a great match and bring out Jodie's 'big' personality... they'd be a very strong pairing).

I wonder whether the pairs will be formed at random or whether they'll put some careful consideration into it?

I actually think Laurence will out-sing either one of these girls, no matter who he's paired up with!

I agree CM has a lot of justifying to do! I sort of expecting him to do so on tonights show since he didn't yesterday. I don't think he'll mention the other 5 boys anymore though

I went and checked, and Laurence said that "Jodie's got a very powerful voice and Sarah's got a very sweet voice". Not sure if that means they were/are his favourites, but you have a good memory!

Lol

Perhaps ALW and CM will pair him up with Jodie to try and show her up

To be fair I did watch 'Together' (with the vt before it) earlier today.

The Olivers could play quite an important part in the deciding of the Nancy. I can see it now... the conspiracy theories from Jodie fans saying she got the worst Oliver to show her up.

I thought Where is Love was absolutly beutiful and one of my favorite songs from Oliver. I've been waiting weeks for them to sing it. It was a little short from what I remember tho lol

Gwion - what a little champ! I just love him, pure and simple, hes so cute!

Harry - I'll let it be known now that he was always a personal favorite of mine. Never thought he'd actually be Oliver but am so chuffed he got the role.

Laurence - I am proud of all the boys but Laurence is someone I'm particuarly proud of because he didn't stand out at first and he's come such a long way. He looks like a genuinely nice kid with a stunning voice, he's absolutly gorgeous in a sweet way. I just love him to bits.

The best thing is, if I went to see Oliver in the West End I'd be pleased to see any one of these boys.

I think the final is going to be good. Its nice how they're going to involve the Olivers with the Nancies.

Bet your bottom doller (no pun intended) that we have NOT seen the last of the other 9 boys. They never do a final without all the participants of a talent show after all!

One thing is for certain, I'll remember Gwion, Harry, Laurence, Chester, Arthur, Kwayedza, Alexander, Jonny, Gareth, Jordan, Sam and Joseph for a long time to come!

Same

I've loved the Olivers, I really have. Just watching Tomorrow again and got a little bit teary. All were fantastic in it but I'd like to say I thought Arthur was especially adorable, I only say this because he went from my least favourite to one of my favourites as the show went on. I genuinely liked all of these boys, I would not have been disappointed for any of the boys to get the role. If all 12 boys aren't in the final I think I might cry.

Did anyone else notice that Gwion's accent was barely noticable when he sang 'Where Is Love'? I was worried that it was his accent which most endeered me to him, but watching him sing without it I still loved him It'll be interesting if they try and train it out of his speaking voice too.

Oh no doubt they will all be there, I just think CM won't comment on them anymore. Let alone justify his choice.

I loved the fact that at the beginning you could tell he was really trying not to be 'welsh' but as it went on the welshness crept in (especially on 'tree') he's so adorable, he'll melt the audience's hearts, which was basically why he was chosen.

I noticed that too. But over the next 6 months if they want the accent out I am sure they can get it.

Much as I wanted Chester to get the part, I agree with lots of comments on here and the final three did really well tonight.

Gwion is unbelievably cute and has a really sweet voice. Harry has a great character and warmth in his performance. Then there is Laurence who has a fabulous voice and a heartfelt sincerity in each performance. I agree with comments in another thread that the Nancy who is paired with Laurence next week needs to be on top form as he is very likely to outsing them!

In the words of ALW, "Bravo to the Olivers". I'm sure the chosen three will do fabulously and no doubt we'll be hearing about the successes of the others before too long.

I just remembered hearing (reading?) something a long time ago about one boy to be selected as some kind of "back up". If one of the winners was not able to take on the role for whatever reason, this boy would take his place. Does anyone else recall anything like that? And, if so, does anyone have any idea who this "forth Oliver" is?

i am not keen on the Oliviers that were picked. Gwion is really annoying. Laurence and Harry are okay but for me the Oliviers should have been:

Chester, Johnny and Alexander

Nevertheless, i am glad the 3 boys chosen achieved their dream

I'm not sure, but surely it should be Chester?

Actually, scrap that idea, I think Chester is too good to be an understudy.

I agree with all your post but especially the bit about Laurence. I was one of the very few people that noticed him from the beginning, but what is fantastic about him is how much he is improved and grown both in confidence and as a performer... he has been on the biggest 'journey' of all the Oliver's and I was so happy when he was picked. You can tell that Cameron Mackintosh is proud of him too.

Indeed, he is!
But I'm still curious to find out if there is any truth to that "forth Oliver" rumour...
Think it would be dreadful for any of them though. It would mean they just had to sit home, wait and hope one of their friends would be unable to play the part.
