The 3 boys were just on BBC breakfast! It might be up on youtube later. They didn't say very much - they showed the footage of their getting told the part, and also their performance of Where is Love.

If you want to know what they said:

Gwion and Harry both said it was such a relief to hear the news after all these months of training.

Laurence said it was so nerve wracking waiting for the news, because they were told to wait in a room, each boy was called in one by one, didn't come back, and he was last to go in (hence why he was already in tears thinking he wasn't through?).

Harry said they've seen the stage at Drury Lane and that "it'll be... cool" to have all that space by yourself during Oliver's solo.

Gwion said they split the week up into a schedule, so that one boy does 2 performances, another 4, then they changeover etc.

Laurence said they go back to school for the other days and have a tutor while they are playing.

Gwion said he gets recognised in supermarkets back in the hometown and it's quite amazing to know you have the support.

Harry said it was quite embarrassing watching back the performances to see himself just standing there but said the crew do it well and it's good to see how it comes across to the TV audience.

Laurence said all 3 Nancys are fantastic and it could go any way on Saturday.

It was only about 5 minutes. They were in normal clothes though (thank God!).

Sources: here or here

Gareth saids that he has a part in Oliver!, which he'll find out in June. Not sure if the sources are entirely reliable but it'll be wonderful if he had (though I do wonder what kind of arrangements he will make, being from NI and all). I wonder how many of the others will be in the gang.

"Gareth Borrow, a Year 9 pupil from Oakgrove IC, L’Derry, has been awarded a part in the hit West End musical, ‘Oliver!’."

Year 9? Must have a different grading system in Ireland...or there's been a mistake

Thanks Ashrell, for the very clear summary of what the boys said on BBC Breakfast!

Just imagining what that moment must have been like, not just for Laurence, but for all of the others as well, is making me again.

I don't totally get this schedule thing yet. Does that mean that one boy will do two shows in a row?

Oh, that would be wonderful! Although he does live really far away.

I believe the grading system 'round here is...

Year 7-11/12
Year 8-12/13
Year 9-13/14
Year 10-14/15
...and so on...

It may differ in different areas of the UK though

I think in NI they go up to Year 14, so it's kind of one grade up from us in England. Gareth's 12, so if he was 12 going onto 13 (as opposed to 11 going onto 12) he would be Year 8 in England, hence Year 9 in NI.

Thanks for putting it up on YT

I think Gwion was making a point of the week being split up and I don't think it'll be exactly scheduled like he said. I don't know how it works with other child roles, but I do think they alternate every day? Or maybe they do it in 2-3 day blocks so that it's easier to go back to school for a longer period of time.

Hi folks. In NI our kids start Primary School at 4/5 in year 1and go up to year 8 there. They transfer to Secondary / Grammar at 11/12 and do years 8 to 12 and if they stay for A levels years 13 and 14. Looking forward to watching the piece on youtube later.

I thought their hug was so sweet! I think Alex and Jonny (I always want to write Johnny lol) were pretty close too, watch them both at 0.59 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIcsir6xCBU)!

You're welcome...

Just to comment after watching that vid quite a few times... That woman is talking to them like they are about 3 years old. It gets quite annoying after awhile. Also, the way she says 'The Lord' at the beginning when referring to ALW....such reverance!

I'll see if I can find out anything about laws for performing kids in the UK. Here, kids aren't allowed to perform two days in a row. But if there isn't a law against that in the UK, it actually makes sense to have the kids perform 2-3 day blocks.

Yes thats true Alex's is quite long in Electricity, dunno when he had it cut,i didnt really notice but it was shorter in No Matter What

Actually they all have quite longish hair for lads, maybe i should grow mine,it must be that that has held my acting career back!!

Yeah they do seem quite close, which is nice
but then Alex seems quite a mature 11 year old so it doesn't surprise me.

Also was it not Alex who said Well done Jonny, and not Harry? It's hard to tell

So,do we think this suggests that the final 12 will all be in the production? If so,thats excellent news

Haha so was I!! Does anyway else think the interviewer was a little condescending to Gwion,Laurence and Harry?

Thanks for all the vids,I spent my morning watching them

Thanks to DNY for the screencaps

I thought it might be nice to include a few more recent screencaps.

I'm going to hate it when IDA finishes. It's not just my empty Saturday I'm worried about, it's the rest of my life! I'll have to stop spending all my time on such useless yet fun pursuits as these and return tot he real world!

I'm sure everyone will find something else to obsess over soon enough

Hmm, well Harry is the first one there at Jonny's side, then I think the camera switches because suddenly it's Alex in the next shot. I thought it was Harry's voice though - and like I said, he and Jonny seem to be quite close.

(Sorry, reading "it's hard to tell" just made me burst into song "it's like that there's a music... playing in your ear". lol. I've watched the Electricity vid too often.)

You make me laugh so much. And I so agree, IDA (well, the Olivers more than the Nancys) was the highlight of my week during the last few (revision-filled) weeks. I think I'm just obsessive by nature, though - I always have something to be obsessed about. Come the autumn, I'm sure I'll be back with Strictly Come Dancing.

ROFL. When I first saw it I was like "is he.... wearing an apron?"

http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/l...icture11-1.png
Harry's hair seems to get longer by the week?

http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/l...icture13-1.png
I love Harry. He is always doing something.

http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/l...icture21-1.png
Gwion looked like he was already expecting good news - maybe he could tell from CM's expression.

http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/l...=Picture22.png
I know! This totally got me. I don't think he ever expected to go through - particularly (as we now know) he was last to go into the room.

Is it just me, or does Laurence always seem to be wearing either a yellow, green or blue variation to that shirt in the task vids?
