I have to say, I don't care much about the Olivers, but I definitely see Kwayedza as Dodger!!

I was under the impression that 8 Olivers went through.... well I hope so anyway

Oh my days, Kwayedza's solo was brilliant. Absolutely breathtaking. The end made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. His voice wipes the floor with the rest of the Olivers, and made them sound awful.

He would make a wonderful Dodger, and even a lovely CD. Imagine if he was on X-Factor? This kid is going to go far!

Nope - there are currently 12, that gets cut to 6 for the semi final, then that gets cut to 3 for their final 3!

They definitely said there would be 8 in the semi-final, which works out with the dates for the final. I think....

No, because in the semi final they can't go from 6 --> 3 because then there won't be a final!

I thought the first 8 weeks, 8 out of the 12 Olivers goes through to the semi-final; at the same time, 8 out of the 12 Nancys gets knocked out to leave us with 4. In the semi-final, the Olivers gets cut down to 6, while the Nancys gets cut down to 3; then in the final 3 Olivers are chosen and 1 Nancy. I thought so, anyway.

Well, I know for a fact that Gwion goes to his local primary, no posh public school or privileged background (I know some parents of kids in his school).

I think he's lovely and would really like to see him as Oliver!

You are correct, this is from the bbc website:

"Finding Oliver
THREE boys will ultimately get the chance to play Oliver in the West End. Our three winning Olivers will be chosen by Andrew and the panel.
Each week the boys will be given an exciting "Oliver Task" to complete and will perform a group number in the main show.
One boy will be put through to our semi final each week. From our final pot of 8 boys three winners will be selected.
These boys will rotate their role in the West End. "

I don't think the others sounded awful but I have to agree that Kwayedza has a great voice. A very mature tone for a young boy. If he doesn't make it to the three Olivers, he would definitely make a great Dodger.

Have only just come across this thread but I have liked Kwayedza from the beginning and his performance on Saturday was great! Hopefully if he doesn't get Oliver he will surely be cast in something else as he has a good voice.

We get more excited in our house about the Olivers at the moment as the Nancy's seem to be going through a dull patch - IMO.

My fave is Kwayedza, however I really like Chester as well. Its Jordan I really don't want to win.

I must say I'm not a fan of Jordan's wide-eyed stage school look either. He's just a little too OTT for me.

I wonder whether Kwayedza's 'throat problem' is just his voice breaking? He's quite tall and he already has a bit of depth to his voice as opposed to just a straightforward boy soprano... the choir was singing the high bits in "I'll be there" yesterday as well. A shame if that happens before December.

My thoughts too! Good Dodger though.

I hadnt really rated Kwayedza but his solo was quite good the song really suited them. I still dont think the four they have chosen have been right but gwion does make me laugh every week!

Kwayedza has been my favourite since I first heard him sing.

I don't like Gwion though. Weak voice and strange litttle William Hague look about him.

I still like Chester and Gwion best.

I'm very glad that Kwayedza is in the semi final as he has a beautiful voice. IMO he looks bit too mature for Oliver but if he gets through and is performing on the night I go I'll very happily listen to his lovely singing.

I think little Gwion is so cute and has the perfect look about him but every week after he's sung his line we are like, 'what did he say?"
Serious loss of Welsh accent needed if he is to play the role.

I thought that too.....what a shame to be in with a chance and then have it taken away for that reason.......mind you, does it say anywhere that Oliver can't be a baritone?

I like the boy with the longish blonde hair....I think I read his name was Sam back at the beginning.......he's got the urchin look and always appears so earnest when he's singing

Oh, I don't think the Welsh accent is such a big deal. I love the way Gwion says dweam instead of dream. He is just too cute.

Posting for camilla:

"Holly Oaks, I found the videos on another forum that I'm on and they're not available on the internet unfourtunately since they're .avi (Realplayer) files. The link to the page that they're on is this: http://www.billyelliotthemusical.me....&postdays=0&po... & they're about halfway down the page! All you have to do is download them. Jonny seems a favourite amongst the forum-goers there. :]
Ashrell, yes I am Cams10Jovi on Youtube. Are you also a member? If you are you've probably seen my endless posts! I do tend to ramble, haha."

I'm probably being stupid but I can't find a link on that page anywhere! Ah well. Yes, I'm glad Jonny seems to be a favourite; really hope he gets his hat next week!

Good call, as I thought he would probably be better suited to the role of Dodger than Oliver.

He was fabulous on Sunday and I actually thought his performance put the Nancys to shame! Which is probably where you're right the kid is probably TOO good for the show!
