Me and Laura think us Forum members should be a part of this musical. We bugsy the parts of Sarah's nieces - Jonny's sisters.

Laura thinks maybe ALW could be like a smelly old man or a child catcher that the children have 2 run from! (Those are her words exactly!)

I definitely agree there should be dancing in it, since the boys are good dancers! (Well some of them)

I shotgun the part of Sarahs new best friend!

Twelve is a lot, maybe we should create two gangs? And initially they don't get along, but in the end they're like best friends? Due to..... well... something? Or is that too much like West Side Story?

Bahaha it's not too much like West Side Story, Chaperone.

Yes I think 2 gangs seems better since 12 is quite a lot. I think we've already established that Chester, Alex and Kway are together in 1 of them. & Jonny makes friends with these 3.

Maybe have like Harry and Joseph as the rich kids in town....
And have maybe some poorer kids
an the tough kids
and the sporty kids....or is this a bit HSM-ish!
And Sarah brings them all together We could borrow Together from Gypsey at this point

I'm liking the sound of this! Maybe they live on opposite sides of a street?!

Jonny could possibly make friends with all of them, then get all of the boys to be friends!

We need more opportunities for musical numbers!

Oh, there could be a number for the rich kids, and one for the poor kids, and one telling us they feel so alone.

Ok...Less HSM more.....West Side Story....

All the kids are a bit scheptical at first, then they all start joining it BUT there is rivalry between the different kids...They fight, fall out, fall in love etc etc and then they end with a show stopping performance of.......??

Lol, I LOVE it! Sarah can be the one who makes sure they all get along in the end! And these kids could all be very different! I'm seriously excited about this!

No! Even better! Sarah starts this youth club and all the kids join it (maybe because their parents are making them), but they're all so different (we should really analyse these characters ) and there's all the fighting, falling out and falling in love etc etc mentioned above. But then, due to whatever, Sarah needs to close down the club and at first the kids don't mind, but then they see how sad it's making Sarah and since they do all love her lots, they decide the join forces and come up with a plan to help her. They'll need the help of some handsome man, of course!

The handsome rich man who they have to convince to support the youth club financially...He comes across as a meanie and then as he see what the club means to the kids they break down the barriers...It comes to light that he used to perform and his parents wouldnt let him -( John Barrowman for this part ).

We could have a musical version of 'Nothings gonna stop us now'

We should seriously get this idea copyrighted! Before you know it, we'll be sitting in a theatre a few years from now, watching a show and thinking "this looks familiar" and then as it turns out, ALW stole our idea!!

Ha....We really do!! Its a pretty good idea even if I do say so myself! Maybe we could contact ALW about it!! I think too, we should give Sam/Niamh a part as a club helper...all the boys fancy her and they all fall out or something!

Sorry for bursting your bubble guys, but my school musical way back in Year 6 ran on very much the same vein as the play you're creating . I have to say it's way crappier than your idea though .

Hmmm, I guess you could have one 13 year old fall in love with the 17 year old club helper (although needless to say, the feeling won't be mutual), but not all of them. That would focus to much on that aspect...
(There we go again, I'm getting way to serious about this! )

EDIT; just read DNY's post! Well, if it isn't set in a youth club, but somewhere else, it's a totally different story!

Laura said about living on opposite sides of a street, and this made me think of the song The Sunny Side Of The Street with the lyrics Id be rich as rockefeller, Gold dust at my feet, On the sunny side of the street which kind of intertwines with the idea of having rich kids!
