I have just purchased a Panasonic TH37PX80 Plasma TV and am not sure what will be the best way of connecting my boxes up.

Is connection by component as good as HDMI?

I have 3 HDMI`s on the TV and I will be connecting the following:

Sky HD Box (Has a HDMI connector)
PS3 (Has a HDMI connector)
Archos HD Recorder (Has a HDMI connector)
Harman Kardon 2.1 System (Has a HDMI connector)
Nintendo Wii - Can connect via a scart adaptor.

What`s the best way to hook everything up so that I get sound from all devices playing through the Harman speakers?

Appreciate any help - Thanks.

Sky,PS3 and HD recorder all connect via HDMI to the tv (assuming the amp only has one HDMI input).

Wii connect via component.

Audio from the HDMI devices can be connected via their optical digital outputs to the amp and the Wii can connect via standard phono leads.

If you want to you could buy an HDMI multi box so that you connect all 3 HDMI devices into the HDMI input of the Harman- but switchers for 3 inputs wont be cheap

If your Panasonic tv is like mine you will find that HDMI 1 will auto switch over when the device comes out of standby but one or both of the others will require manual switching via the tv remote.

I tried the inputs with both Sky HD and PS3 and both switched over in input 1 but didnt with the other input - so it WAS the tv and NOT the Sky or PS3 boxes

Thanks for your reply.

My Harman 2.1 system (HS250) only has 1 optical input.

If I connect all my boxes to the tv and then connect the TV audio out to the Harman, will this route all the sound from all boxes out to the Harman speakers?
