Dr Who Ratings Thread (Merged)
This is a thread for all of us who like discussing the ratings of the show on a week by week basis. Doubt it will be long before the overnights are out, I am reckoning about 7.5 million for the season opener. It will be interesting to see whether the early time slot had any real impact on the ratings. Any thoughts?

After some research the ratings are in and are :-
8.4 million. 39.4% share Which is a good solid start I would have said, and it was the most watched programme on TV yesterday

Sooooo. According to RTD, that would have been down 1.5m on the number it would have got if it had been on at 7? Dream on!

It's surprisingly high, certainly much higher than I expected. Just goes to prove how absolutely out of touch I am with modern society

Links to DS threads aren't proof!
Links to OG aren't either, but at least it's independent corroborating evidence. ![]() http://www.gallifreyone.com/news.php |

I was only 0.3m out for the overnights
![]() I'm sure the ratings are credible because the person who posts the ratings always posts the ratings and they are always correct. |

Fires of Pompeii ratings are in :- 8.1 Million, 36.7% Share. 2nd most watched programme of the day. Lower ratings despite the later time slot, but 8.1 million is still a healthy number.

Source Outpost Gallifrey. ![]() I don't think the start time is a factor, tbh, and never really was as much of an issue as it was made out to be. |

Those figures are great....the drop off last year from episodes 1 and 2 was around 1.5 million I believe, this year there was barely any drop off at all.

So just so we're all on the same page...
The second highest ratings for a series opener since it returned, plus the lowest drop in ratings between the first and second episode since it returned (S2's ratings actually went up due to a World Cup match being on straight beforehand). Can we PLEASE now stop with the Catherine Tate is going to destroy the series crap. It would also be nice if all of those people who hurled abuse at the woman over the past nine months would grow a pair and admit they were wrong, but we can't expect miracles can we. |
