Good to see the figures going up! And wow! Look at that audience share!
I'm dreading the figures for 2 weeks time! It's gonna be shown early cause of Eurovision! Blink didn't get that high of a rating did it? I'll feel sorry for Moffat if his episode doesn't get good ratings!

Excellent over night viewing figures for The Unicorn and the Wasp...
7.7m (36.1%) Which goes to re-emphasise that a slightly later start time makes a big difference. I would think that it will translate to final figures of around 8.2 million. |

Good to see them up. Such a great series doesn't deserve to treated so poorly and end up with ratings that don't reflect the quality.
Like you say Muttley, fair play to RTD- he spoke his mind on this one and BBC eventually sorted it out! Thankfully it appears to be back to 7 for now!

I understand it is staying at around the 7pm mark the rest of the series. People knock RTD a lot here, but I think his making a fuss about the time slot probably helped get that done.

if RTD is all powerful and influential why did it start out in an earlier slot?

the point I am making is if he is influential then why didn't he get his way for the timeslot he wanted when the series started?

Because while he has influence he doesn't run the BBC or control the overall scheduling, he had to make his case for it to be moved to later, which, along with the general dissatisfaction expressed, helped to see it moved to a later slot once it became feasible to do so.

Seriously, what's your point? The man's been proved correct in what he said, does it bother you so much that he was right? |

Because he's not in charge of the BBC's scheduling department.

If he wasn't influential at all then they would have ignored his concerns. The fact that they took them seriously proves that he has influence. Can you not even give him a little bit of credit for doing his utmost to ensure the series is treated fairly by the BBC?
