Much appreciated, and thanks for all the updates you've provided throughout the series.

So once again, that driver away of the long term fans AND casual viewers Moffat, gets the two highest AI scores of a run of episodes. Again. MOFFAT MUST GO!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Yog. Do you know What The Fall is up to?

Thank's Yog101...

Do you or anyone else know what the best first day time-shift Doctor Who has ever had?

It would be interesting to compare with The Doctors Name time-shift.

Yog, any idea of how BGT is doing? You could post it on the Ratings Thread and/or the BGT ratings thread.

Solid ratings and a good AI score, but an episode as brilliant as that deserved slightly better.

I believe that IPlayer views watched from a smart TV count.

I guess you just have to hope that Doctor Who fans tend to own smart TVs.

Thanks Yog. So around 7.5m for a final rating. Is that about the same or lower than the series 6 finale?

The Series 6 Finale got 7.670m. I think we could see it match that.

Thanks. Any idea how that compares to the two day increase for The Bells of Saint John?

It's below what The Bells of Saint John was doing on timeshift, by around 200k, but TBoSJ was helped by the fact that there was a Bank Holiday Monday and School holidays that followed.

It's worth noting that it's the GCSE and A-Level exam season also. So this may be more spread out.

I do also think that one factor we haven't taken into account is that some of the million or so viewers who've switched off throughout 7B may be reluctant to tune back in for fear of not knowing what's going on.

Hope they take the plunge though, you could have missed almost everything since The Bells of St John and still understand 99% of the episode.

Just some stats that I thought may interest you:
Doctor Who was the 5th most tweeted about programme last week with 93,009 tweets. The first time that has happened for DW this series and the first drama to get into the top 5 since the Broadchurch Finale a month ago.

The tweets peaked when 4,000 Doctor Who tweets were posted in the minute directly after the Finale finished.

The 'switch off' or fluctuations for Series 7b are by no means unusual. So there's no reason to be concerned about people reluctant to tune in for fear of not knowing what's going on.

Indeed - previous two part finales give us some clues as to how little difference it makes:

7.51m - The Sound of Drums
8.61m- Last of the Time Lords

8.78m - The Stolen Earth
10.57m - Journey's End

There are plenty of viewers who won't be recorded in the official figures, and most (if not all) of the 'lost' viewers will be the same people who aren't that bothered and tune in and out through every series, but never have a problem coming back.

Plus - I suspect a repeat showing of 'Name' and some major recapping will be happening.

It's really rocking and rolling now 7.5 is definitely a target.

I presume these timeshift figures come from iplayer? Could some knowledgeable person please tell me, do they come from other sources as well, and if so, what? When do they stop adding them on? i.e when do we get the final figure? Thanks.

The numbers will come from either people who recorded it, or watching it on iPlayer, however, they only include iPlayer figures from those who watch it on their TV. People who watch it on the computer or any form of mobile device are not included.

The final figures will include all those who watched it right up to 7pm this Saturday. So we should get the final figures from someone on Sunday afternoon.

I don't expect they will count the repeat on BBC 3 on Friday will they?
Or would they?
