You're right. Overnights include people watching the show before 2am. Only VOSDAL (viewed on same say as live), tells ushow many people were watching as it was broadcast.

in terms of tickets sold, cinemas tend to deal with £ or $ than ticket sales. In the UK it had taken £1.7 million but there are still some showings in coming days - I'd guess around £2 million total for the UK.

I am sure they will do a press release for the worldwide broadcast in due course.

Who will undoubtedly be number 1 show for the week, quite probably number 1 drama of the year, and has an outside chance of being number 1 show of the year.

Just thought I'd see where it currently sits for the whole year.

IACGMOOH is no. 1 with 13.5m, so will be a big ask to beat that.

It will almost certainly go above the highest rated drama in Downton Abbey (12.2m)

The other two programmes that are currently above it are Britain's Got Talent (12.9m) and Wimbledon 2013: Men's Final (12.3m)

So I can see it going up to 2nd. But will probably have much higher iPlayer views than anything else and obviously there were the Cinema screenings.

So although there won't be any way of making it official, I reckon DOTD will be the highest viewed TV event of the year within the UK.

That's wonderful news.

So given what's counted so far there's ample time to gather the final ratings to top 13m?

It does bode well for the Christmas episode.
Especially if most people loved the episode.

Speaking of which is there an AI for this episode?
I haven't really paid any attention to AIs for ages. Do they still do them?

I think tomorrow we will know for sure if it can top 13 million or not. Obviously the numbers time shifting reduces every day after broadcast, needs another very strong figure tomorrow (say 700k) for more than 13 million to be on I think. My own hunch is it's going to wind up around 12.8 - 13.00 million range but ratings have been so mad so far who knows!

Hopefully Who should have a plum slot this year, around 7pm or there abouts, which will help. Regeneration will be a draw, plus hopefully lots of good momentum from this episode.

Yeah, usually they come out for Saturday shows on a Monday, so hopefully some time today.

Okay thanks. It would be good to not have too high expectations and set ourselves up for disappointment.
As ratings of about 12.5m are enough to be very pleased about anyway.

Interesting. Steven can't get those 91s like Russell did for the big episodes.

Yog do you know how An Adventure In Space And Time is doing?

Sure, it's currently at 2.622m

With the Overnights at 2.161m thats an increase of 0.461m

Which means it's 2nd only to The Fall as the best rated Drama on BBC2 in 2013
