I do wonder though whether Moffatt is going to be able to hype the finale like RTD always did - whether you liked it or not he always seemed able to bring in the ratings.”
RTD was great at Hyping the finales....
He used the 'Throw the kitchen sink at it' technique.
Series 1.The Parting of the Ways. Daleks... Lots of Daleks! Plus a regeneration!(Rating 6.9miliion)
just a little bit higher than 'The Hungry Earth'
Series 2. Doomsday Lots of Daleks. Lots of Cybermen... Plus the first time we saw the last of Rose! (Rating 8.2million)
The Eleventh Hour had an overnight of 8 million.... RTD was no where to be seen!
Series 3. Last of the Timelords. The return of the Master and Captin Jack...(Rating 8.6 million)
Again episodes this series have been getting over 8 million.
Series 4. Journey's End. I think everybody who was ever in RTD's Nu-Who turned up here.... Captain Jack , Rose, Sarah Jane... Plus the return of Davros.
And the earth being towed back to it's rightful place in the solar system...

(Rating 10.6 million)
Now that's a great rating...
RTD was great at getting fantastic ratings, but it's a myth that Moffat isn't... People are seeing the low overnights and thinking that this series is doing badly...
It isn't, it's well up there is the RTD era'. It's still up there with series 1 average i believe?
