Does anyone have an idea what time the episode on June 12th is on? That's the evening of the first England Match, though as you say Muttley, if today was anything to go by, I shouldn't really be bothered......

well i guess we will see, i just don't understand why the england team are so overhyped by the press in the lead up to these events when we all know that there are plenty of teams in a different league to us! Bit off topic there!

no time has been announced yet, I'd guess a 6.15pm start though, as the ITV coverage starts at 7pm.

yes the games kick off at 7.30pm but given it's the first of england's games I would imagine most viewers interested in the event will have it tuned in to itv at 7pm for the build up coverage, don't you?

Based on DW's share its around 1m viewers - which is always the figure even RTD said the show dropped by being on 45 minutes earlier than 7pm. You said in one of your earlier posts "Some people say it would get Millions more....." - I don't know anyone who has said that, but around 1,000,000 is about right per hour it starts earlier than 7.
The problem is Weather/Opposition/2 Parter/School Holidays/Promotions and a few others will also affect the Overnights - so it is not easy as to just compare one week starting at 6.15 and the next at 7.00 and thinking it would be a Million higher - it's far more involved that that - which I'm sure you appreciate but just choose to ignore when making your sweeping statement that a 7pm makes no difference at all.
I think nothing has been proven regarding the 7pm slot. It is still open to debate. But it seems obvious more people have bums on seats as the evening draws on.
I think to dismiss is in the one sentence you did claiming "It is all over" is rather flawed in itself!

Actually even RTD admitted to being wrong when PIC got 9 million viewers at a 6.20pm slot....
And you only have to trawl through this thread to see people saying that it would do better at a 7pm slot....

Those other things will effect overnights, but the point of the argument is that it doesn't mean an automatic 7pm slot would give it the extra viewers, which is what some were saying....threads have been started on this subjected...so the only thing Muttley can say with the evidence provided by the brilliant ratings that the earlier slots got and the 7pm slot got, is by saying that it doesn't make a difference...

You may have extra bums on seat but that doesn't mean all of them want to watch it....for example Gareth from the Guardian was dismissing the ratings of 9 million that Waters of Mars got on the Simon Mayo show because the share was 33%....there were roughly 30 million people watching TV on that day and that hour...yet only Nine million watched it....so having more bums on seat doesn't automatically mean that more will watch it...as was the case last night....so the ones who were going to watch it still did, whether it be 7pm or 6pm...and that is the point of the whole 7pm debate....

That's the way we're going - I consider myself a hardcore fan and I would say about half of Who episodes I now watch on Sunday morning.

I think it's just missed out by 100,000
The Eleventh hour got a timeshift of just over 2 million i believe.
Anyway that's a fantastic rating considering the fuss made over the overnight figure.
6.49m is pretty good for The Hungry Earth taking into account the very low overnights - a bit more than I was expecting actually.
With part 2s overnights being up 1m or so on part 1 then we should be back around 7.5m+
I do wonder though whether Moffatt is going to be able to hype the finale like RTD always did - whether you liked it or not he always seemed able to bring in the ratings.

RTD was great at Hyping the finales....
He used the 'Throw the kitchen sink at it' technique.

I don't think that is what Yorkie meant....I think he meant will Moff be hyping up the finales like RTD did...you know the publicity and stuff, and how that, despite what some fans felt (that they were never good) it did the job in getting the ratings....there is no denying that this series is doing tremendously well in ratings....but the hype for the last couple of stories has been a little minimum....I'm sure though that the Pandorica Opens and the big Bang will get plenty of hype considering that the Eleventh Hour did....already I have seen in TV Choice today ( I tyhink it was) a little bit about the finale...so I'm sure that as we get closer, it will be publicity mad as ever....
