He doesn't watch a lot of TV or doesn't watch any TV at all?

The only person who I know that doesn't watch TV (as in any) was my old R.E. teacher. Hmmmm.

He said that before and has since had in depth discussions about watching big brother on E4 last year etc. The mans a sham thru & thru

Funny, during the chat with scott, when he was meant to be looking after steph, he said he was a big fan and watcher past BB.

I'm not defending Scameron but he could simply have meant he doesn't watch a lot of TV as opposed to the more literal interpretation. If he was talking about total abstinence then the last few posts in this thread would suggest he can't keep his lies consistent. Och noooo!

In context, he was using a TV as an example of something he wouldn't spend a huge amount of money on.

He did say "Och, but that's a bad example, cos I don't watch TV" meaning he probably doesn't watch TV as much as he does other things, like walk, read, listen to music, radio or whatever.

Give the man a break. I can't stand him either, but don't twist his words.

He talks a load of shit. Yesterday they were having a discussion on C4's 100 greatest...series and he was going on about watching them. Whatever-don't believe a word he says!

if he says "I don't watch TV" how else should we interpret that?
You are the one twisting his words by giving them a different meaning.

exactly He must have alterior motives and that might well be donating it to charity, so that this isnt seen as cam bashing for the sake of it. Or he doesnt realise he actually is a coach potato

80% (or so) of conversation relies on body language, eye contact, mannerisms, tone of voice, etc.

This is why misunderstandings crop up in forums (fora?) such as these.

Anyone who witnessed that conversation and concluded that Cam was a liar just cos he said he didn't watch TV should get out more.

I'm not twisting his words, just putting them into context. I am not a fan of that man, and would happily see him out first and wouldn't shed a tear if he was boo'd to high heaven. I just think that some posters take it too far and just refuse to be objective about what they are seeing.

I just don't understand how you can accuse people of twisting his words. Those were the words used.
As for body language, mannerisms etc... did he wink whilst saying this?

Only they know why they applied. Personally, I wouldn't apply if the prize was £1 million, but whatever floats your boat.

I doubt if £70K is the main reason most people would apply. Perhaps it's the fame and opportunity of a media career. Perhaps to win a bet with your mates. Perhaps just to prove a point (a la Jon). Who knows?

It's difficult to describe. He looked as if he was trying to think of another example while he was saying that phrase. I saw the conversation and concluded that he didn't exactly mean that he literally didn't watch TV.

Ray just said something like "When it comes to the house (indoor decorations) the woman should have her own way cos she's going to spend the most time in there". Does that make him a sexist pig? If you take those words out of context and remove all intonation then yes. However, it was said with a smile on his face and laugher in his voice and everybody took it for what it was - a joke.

sorry, I'm just bored and being pedantic. I don't really care. It's a pretty crappy BB that's got us arguing over the minutiae.

Sorry he wasnt making a joke He was talking about a 600 pound telly and he said that would be to much as wasnt watching telly.

IMO Cam doesnt realise how human he is. He probably DOES watch a lot of telly, he just seems to feel the need to pretend.

And I dont mean that in a bad way, many people do things without realising. Nevertheless I assume he realised the backstabbing part etc.

Me too.

I will concede that my choice of "twisting his words" in my original posting should have been more accurately "taking his comment out of context".

The joke was with regard to Ray's comment, not Cam's.

Agreed. I'm sure they'll give us something else to argue about soon. If they don't, we'll make it up, as usual
