Freeview
I got a tv with freeview built in.Thinking of buying a new dvd been looking at the Sumsung dvd sh853m which as got freeview as well so does it matter if they both got freeview?

Did it matter that your old VCR and TV both had analogue tuners in?
![]() Of course it didn't then and still doesn't. In fact having a Freeview DVD is the only way you have to record BBC3 while you watch ITV2 for example. You have to remember that the DVD recorder has no idea what TV it is attached to, nor does it much care if it is even connected to one at all. So it neither knows nor cares what channels the TV can receive as it makes no use of the TV whatsoever to actually receive broadcast TV signals. All you need a TV for is to watch the pictures the DVD produces. A few months ago I set up a new installation for my mum. She has FOUR Freeview tuners to play with, one in the telly, one in the DVD and two in the PVR. All seems to work OK
