Liver & bacon. Kidneys are really yummy. I haven't eaten Heart since my school days but I don't remember disliking it. Curried goat belly (goat tripe) still remains a favourite when cooked by my mother. Bless the Scots for inventing Haggis.

What I can't do are eyes, brains, and bolleaux. Well not knowingly anyway.

Or, as the chef said - "I'll make you an offal you can't refuse".

I mean, when did bacon become offal? And I mean, hello? I mean, has the Food forum been closed down?

Haggis and liver & bacon, but, of course, the bacon is an accompaniment to the offal.

People who buy those value sausages at around 50p plus for a pack of 8, will most certainly be getting a hidden taste of innards and unspeakable outward bits.

Bacon is an added flavour for Liver and adds to the enjoyment, just like loads of onions. I could have said Liver & Onions.

Feel free to shoot me for putting this thread on here. Ooh, you've already metaphorically tried.

I used to like sheeps brains on toast...tasted like soft rose but not had them for years. Also used to like beef hearts, epecially the bit at the bottom of the heart. My Mom used to stuff them with stuffing

I like liver but not over keen on the "tubes" as someone described them. kidneys for breakfast are fantastic, but not keen on the smell of them cooking.

Can you still get soft rose? I used to much prefer it to hard rose. Cant remember how it was cooked but it was great on toast!

As the great Glen Campbell observed...
'Like a Rhinestone Cowboy.
Gettin' cars and lettuce from people I don't even know.
And offal's comin over the phone. '

Liver, mmm.
I don't think I've tried anything else, though I am partial to black pudding and I don't have a clue what's in that, I just know it's not good!

I don't understand why people turn their noses up at things like heart or kidneys - why are they any different to the parts they regularly eat? Then again, I don't understand why people think horse/dog/whatever is gross, when they'll happily eat a bit of cow or pig.

I love liver and bacon, but I'm the only one in this household that does so don't bother anymore.
I was also very fond of Ox tongue but haven't seen that about for years.
We grew up on the cheaper cuts of meat - liver, kidneys, brisket, neck/ breast of lamb, stuffed heart etc. The only thing my mother never bought was tripe because she hated it.
