International calling cards?

Has anyone had any experience with these? I came across the following site; http://www.telephone-calls.org/ which seems to offer a good search facility to find the best deals. I'm ony really calling Hong Kong, so i'm looking for the best deal. Just wondering what people's experiences are, if any, with international calling cards. Thanks in advance...

Tales of credit mysteriously running out without warning or use and an aversion to paying in advance have always put me off calling cards.

As it happens, there are numerous ways of calling HK for 0.5p/minute or 1p/minute - see HERE.

I favour 18185 myself because, apart from an aversion to paying in advance, I don't like having to start paying halfway though dialling either (which happens with the 0844 gateway providers).
