Effiing BT!
AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
What the hell do I have to do to be able to speak to someone at BT who a. has a command of the english language and b. knows what the hell they are doing!!! I have been getting calls every 10 minutes, all day for about a week from an international withheld number and they won't leave a message. My answerphone got "congratulations, you have won....." the other day so i'm not picking it up else i'll get hammered for something like £25 a minute from some scam. Also, I moved over to sky talk a few months back and BT are still billing me for calls. All I want to do is talk to someone who can sort it out for me....I don't want to spend my evening pressing '1' for this, '2' for that and '3' to loose my frigging mind and then when I get through to someone it's in an indian call centre who try and sell me anonymous call barring for over £10 a quarter and doesn't reply when I ask them a simple question. aaaand breathe. You can't get hammered with a £25 per minute scam - that's just an urban myth.
The only time you'll get charged for an incoming call is with reverse charged calls and you are told that this is a reversed charge call. The dearest premium rate call you can make from a phone is £1.50 per minute. For calls stating you have won this and that, there is no mechanism in the UK to transfer that incoming call to an outgoing and charged for call, so even if you press 3 to speak to someone and it does connect it is still the person calling you paying for the call. Maybe you need to tighten up that loose mind (OK common spelling error many make) for me I'd lose my mind going around in circles.Try: ben.verwaayen@bt.com if you are getting nowhere on the phone. |

Although BT are an absolute nightmare I've found that if you email them you DO get a response - and it's understandable. I'd drop them an email about your call package being moved to Sky and also register with TOPS - this should stop you getting those silly calls. Will take about 28 days to kick in but it's worth it.

double check with sky
here's a good link to check out concerning steps you can take to minimise the aggrovation of unsolicited calls. http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/
As far as calls still appearing on your BT bill (although you're with Sky) that's just not possible unless you're using an override code. Sky use a CPS service (where all outbound calls are handled by them and not BT) so I would check with them and make sure you are actually signed up for their service. |

I've had those anonymous international calls. I just ignore them and if they dont leave a message I know they are bullshit merchants.

I'm already signed up for TPS, but I'll pop over to their website to make sure they have my info. Thanks for the advice guys. |
