digi pvr 160 (signal to weak to record)

I live in a block of flats they have recently fixed my aerial connection im getting a 110signal at the connection, but the aerial plate reduces this to 63 im using a splitter from a samsung digitv. but my signal is to week to use the record function. any ideas ? im going to ring aerial company(ontracted by council to fix our aerial)

just took the splitter off only using the pvr connection for signal , now not diluted so i can record

If you use a splitter then the signal will be shared between the two outputs. The best way is to feed the signal in series. When RF signals are fed through a device the RF output from the device is amplified to compensate for the internal attentuation by the device. In your case feed the aerial to the RF Input of the PVR, then feed the RF output of the PVR to the aerial input of your TV.
