Digi DTR 160 Huge Problems...

Hello, thanks for looking.

Just bought one of these whilst between addresses. Having been used to Sky+ i decided to replace my cheapo Woolworths Freeview box (which works perfectly..) with the DTR 160 from Argos. Software is 2.7 iirc.

Problems are : Freezing.. No Signal.... Stutter... Basically unwatchable. Tried resetting and this seemed fine till i moved it back into position and off it went again. Always when i switch it out with the Woolies Box everything is perfect with that so i assume cables and signal are healthy.

Any known solution or advice would be gratefully received... i really like the functions that this box offers and would like to keep it..

Cheers!

all the best

These boxes do require really good signal in order to work properly. Stuttering and problems with recording are a common symptom of this.

Also these boxes are known to be unreliable in a lot of cases. It may be worth returning it and trying another one.

Or you could take it back for a refund and try another brand built on the same T816 platform. Asda's Onn brand for instance. Equally as cheap and most come with v3.7 of the firmware, which a lot of users find to be better.

If the signal quality varies when you move the box, then either there is a dodgy connection somewhere or you are picking up interference.
