Hi, i am thinking of getting this Ministry of sound micro system:

are their any bad things about it, does anyone else have one and what do you think of it?

Aren't they just re-badged Goodmans units? Cheap enough, but nothing special in terms of sound quality, from what I've heard.

Is East Wycombe Loudwater?

No, Easy Wycombe is: Half of loudwater, starting from where the mill was knocked down, tesco's, micklefield area. Finishing around the Octagon. Including all of london road starting from tescos onwards

doesnt look worth the money

the ministry of sound products are made my acoustic solutions, you would be far better getting something such as the teac reference 100 which i have and is bloody brilliant!!!!! its also expensive though

i saw the ministry stereo (link above) on qvc. The close ups were brilliant, the display is blue and has scrolling text etc. And the remote is really small and light.

I know it is small for the money, but all the ministry of sound stereos have special exclusive MBass and the subwoofer looks really cool on the telly. The unit is really small etc. And the CD Deck automatically opens and closes with a button/remote control.

On my last stereo, i had to apply pressure to open/close the top-loading cd deck. This 1 is all automatic.

oh gimmicks mate!

anyway

my teac reference 100

has a cd tray which opens electronically, it has all of the features including very good and strong bass, but is also a seperate amplifier with inputs and outputs for tape and minidisc etc

below is a picture!

you have to buy the speakers seperate though, but it will be far better than any of the argos products!

The thing that made me suspicious of the link between MoS and Goodmans were the similarities between the 'power tower' systems - both stocked by Argos. I'm sure they (MoS) get their hardware from a variety of sources though.
Checking out the specs, I'm still not convinced by the micro system. 4.5 watts/channel + 7 watts for the sub seems very low, even for a compact setup. I'd go for a second hand Denon system, with the option of changing the speakers to suit room size/budget/listening preferences. Look for something that puts out 20 to 40 watts per channel, pair it with some efficient bookshelf speakers, and you can always add an active sub at a later date. Either that or check out the Richer Sounds website and see what they've got on offer - the nearest stores to you are Reading and Oxford. You might end up with something that doesn't look quite as good, but it would probably sound a whole lot better.

I'm from Micklefield, me.

If it's the Ministry of Sound unit that sells for around £90, my local Tesco has them.

They had one on yesterday on the display and it sounded not bad for the money - and it does look slightly classier than some of the other cheapos...
