Sky lead advice needed...

Hi people,

I'm having patio doors fitted next to where my Sky box is at the moment, so we want to move the TV 12 feet up the lounge.

How would I best go about getting my Sky lead extended? Can you buy an extension and fit it yourself outside of the house and drill a new hole? Or would I best go about asking Sky to come out and do it for me?

Cheers,
SG

You can get line 'connectors', these join two F connectors together - so make a lead as long as you want with F connectors each end, and join on to the existing lead with a line connector. Best to do this all inside, although as long as you use self-amalgamating tape to seal it it's perfectly OK outside as well.

Or if you want a little more work?, run a completely new cable from the dish, again it's just F connectors either end.

Thanks for that. I dont really want to do it inside as its not a flat wall..there is a fireplace in the middle. Where can i get leads and f connectors from?
