Virgin Media owned channels are to broadcast in widescreen from tomorrow.
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/broadcas...idescreen.html
They are all now widescreen - some with slight variations on logos and idents.

Quick question but are the virgin channels moving on Virgin as Challenge in its promos are saying Challenge Virgin 135 / Sky 135, or is this just a typo on their part?

I'm not aware of a number change... could just be a typo!

ANALOGUE UPDATE - MANCHESTER WYTHENSHAWE

VHF

96.0 The Arrow North West has replaced Magic 1152 Manchester
96.4 silent - former channel 33 sound - was carrying Magic 1152
96.8 BBC Radio 5 Live (Channel 32 sound) - was Movies 24

TV:

The following channels have left analogue service and are carrying a notice advising of these particular services being removed and that they are available on the digital service:

Channel 14: Discovery/Discovery RealTime/Bloomberg
Channel 24: CNN International
Channel 32: Movies 24
Channel 41: Animal Planet/Men & Motors

Channel 33: switched off (was carrying VM logo with Magic 1152 on sound)

BBC Radio 5 Live is on the sound track of channels 14, 32 and 41. There is no sound on 24.

Potentially this could mean that 5 new muxes are to be added but no idea if or when. Watch this space.

Probably a typo as Challenge cannot move to Sky 135 as that EPG position, and the 5 that follow it, are allocated to Channel 4. Also, I don't think Sci-Fi would be too happy at being shunted off 135 on VM either.

I posted details of the analogue service on on my blog (list here) some months back. I'd imagine there'll be a fair amount of regional variation as they turn the service off over the next month.

Try not to be too upset with the loss of price crash tv. Showing the standard "sorry - no longer available" slate.

So having looked at the list, what is actually broadcast on channel 06 and is there any sound?

Also, do you happen to know what is carried on the FM hook-up frequencies for your area? Thanks.

Are you sure that these are coming to VM and not just Sky?

We'll just have to wait and see till next week if I was making it up Anyway +1 channels are nothing to get excited over.

I understand that SCI FI +1 will be available on Virgin from 5 August...Hallmark+1 and Diva TV +1 will be launching on the 7th.
From someone at NBC Universal, I guess you can add Sci Fi +1 to the list too.

Indeed. After all, they keep telling us they are full but they still found room for Challenge Jackpot.

By 'they' I assume you mean VM.

Have they ever actually said so or is it just forum chinese whispers?

Going by the space taken up on the V+ between 4 and 5.
