Last night my daughter was watching something already saved on Sky+ and whilst she was watching it, she was also recording it onto a disc on the above DVD recorder.
As she was watching it, the screen went black and on the DVD player it said SELF CHECK. She turned the DVD player off then back on and when she tried to record something else onto the DVD recorder it said something like 'Unable to record, disc available for playback only' on the TV screen (she had not finalised or done anything else to the disc). There was nothing wrong with the disc.
I have checked the Panasonic website and SELF CHECK appears to be something to do with power failure to the DVD recorder.
Could it be any other reason or would I be best to invest in a surge protector - or is that a waste of time?
