Grated is better. Sliced is easier. Although grated is no good on biscuits.

Depends what it's for.
If it's in a sandwich, grated cheese is a curse because the minute you take a bite, it falls out. So sliced is better in butties.
If you're making something where you want the cheese to melt, grating it means it melts quicker.

Same here, although I also like mine covered in chutney.

It surely depends what type of cheese you have and what you plan to do with it.

Sliced is nice, but grated goes further.

You use less if you grate it - more surface area.
But I do like cheese-on-toast made with big slabs of cheese

Let's not forget cubed cheese... punctured with a cocktail stick... and sat next to its savoury cousin, the pineapple cube. Yum Yum.

Nah... I wouldn't cube the cheese for that... just cut off a nice big wedge and accompany with some fresh crusty bread. Oooh... praise be that lunchtime is only five minutes away, I'm rather hungry now!

Sliced (unless I want it to melt). I just don't like the texture of grated cheese - the same with minced beef.

Nothing. But I'm sure the anti Daily Mail group will blame it on them
My son does grated for his sandwiches everyday and manages to cover the work top, floor and sink area. I sometimes wonder if he manages to get any in his sandwich

Grated ONLY if it's going over spaghetti bolognese

Otherwise....sliced!
