Quad L-ite 5.1 loudspeakers.

I've recently bought a Quad Lite 5.1 surround sound speaker system ( which includes an active subwoofer ) and a Yamaha DSPAX 761 AV amplifier.

I have just run the auto setup on the amp and got test sounds/tones from the left front, centre front, right front, right surround and left surround but nothing from the subwoofer. What should i be hearing from the sub woofer ? and what am i doing wrong ? Could some kind person please help/advise me ? Sorry if i appear a numpty but i have only owned a Panasonic all in one surround sound system previously which was simple to set up.

Thanks in anticipation.

Geoff.

I have heard other owners mentioning this before but you should be able to set the sub level in manual set up.

Have you played something through the system yet, is the sub working?

How have you connected the sub? Generally it's via low level (single phono cable) from the sub pre out on the back of the receiver to 'L' low level input on the back of the sub.

Sub settings: Volume should be set around 1/2 - 3/4, crossover to full, providing you are using the amps crossover settings, if the sub has an internal crossover make sure this is set to off/disabled, auto on/off set to off.

Thanks for the reply/help Tommy.

I've just done the auto setup again with the volume on the sub turned up to 75 ( previously had it at 45 ) and i can now hear it.

Thanks again.

Glad you were able to get it sorted.
