Wireless Headphones FM
Hi has anyone tried wireless headphones the FM type, i'm looking for 2no pairs to use off one source but don't want to spend a fortune on them. Iv'e seen several types on ebay and similer with radio and microphones built in etc but don't know what the sound quality is like, I dont necessarily need high Fi quality but a decent quality sound for xbox and pc use.
If any one has tried these can you say what the quality is like before I try or shall I go for the dearer types, comments from anyone who as actually tried some of them would be gratefully received. Many thanks. |

Friend of mine had a pair and I wasn't impressed.
The sound was a bit hissy and prone to breaking up ..... which is not really surprising if it's using FM. If you want wireless headphones, I think bluetooth ones would probably be a better option as I suspect you'd get a clearer signal. Something like these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Fre...sbs_ce_title_1 maybe? If you're prepared to put up with a bit of hiss though, there are plenty RF ones around cheaper .... |

I may try one of the cheaper bands just to see what quality they are, it may save may neck if I trip over these cables as they are now. |

Thanks for your reply they seem to be a better quality but a bit dearer than I want to lay out as its mainly for the lads to listen to their computer and x box at the same time without being tripped up by the cables as we have now.

I had some Infa-red ones once - and the sound quality on them was better than with FM. obviously tho, you have to be in the same room as the transmitter for this. |

I think regular FM transmission ones should be fine for what you need them for.

The other thing im worried about with the radio type is if the wifi network will interfere with them as it does with a video transmiter I tried once and abandoned. |

I used to have infra red headphones many years ago although they may have improved I used to get a hiss on 1no channel and every time I used the remote control a loud hiss would appear on both channels as the signal interfered with the reception.
