Michael was my favourite out of the boys - really sad that he was voted off. Michael was the only one of the boys I've warmed to so far!

Michael was great, he never deserved to go yet, but his exit was inevitable at this point as this is American idol, not Australian idol. I reckon Carly will go next week for the same reason.

LOL ..Simon is so false whenever he "judges" Kristy but he (probably rightly) thinks she's the voice of the bible belt, flag waving, mid america, she's currently untouchable.

People in the UK generally speaking hate country music. However in America it is liked by all ages and by a large cross section of people who also like rock music etc., especially New Country, such as sung by the likes of Martina McBride, which really was a fusion of rock and country music. Kristy does that very well and form this weeks performance deserves to be in next week. It was a travesty that Michael went though.

Personally, several years ago, I went from a position of hating country music to really liking the New country of the early to mid 90's, when people like Martina Mcbride started out.

I am fervently hoping that some scandal erupts - such as images of a scantily clad Kristy starring in a rap video which might knock her off her pedastal!

Michael John went for one simple reason. he wasn't American.
Look at the bottom three. An Australian Guy, an Irish woman and a black woman. The three best singers in the contest, and yet they were in the bottom three.

I have to agree with this. I would not be surprised to see Carley eliminated next week. Some of the Idol sites I have visited are quite vehement in that a non-American should not win. By the way how American a name is Archuleta? How American is any name come to that?

I was also upset by the way Seacrest dealt with the elimination, you could see the hope suddenly appear on Michael's face when RS mentioned non elimination on the last Idol Gives Back week, only to have the knife turned on him.

I was shocked to see Michael go. When he was in the bottom 3 I thought he would at least be saved.

He was my second favourite behind David Cook but I thought he would make it to at least the top 5. He went too early.

I think, what possibly happened was, David C and Michael have a very similar voting demographic, and tend to appeal to the same people, David C was percieved as being in danger last week and so those who normally split their vote, voted solidly for David C and Michael therefore lost out on some votes, he was never seen as in danger and so wasn't voted for so obsessively - moral of this story, don't listen to dialidol who never had MJ in the bottom 3, but did have David C

I don't agree. Based on this week's performances, it should have been David C or Carly who went, much as I like Carly. Based on talent shown so far it should have been Kristy. She should have been out many weeks ago.

I couldn't have put it better. I don't actually want to bring race into this because I actually think it's less of an issue than nationality. Two black contestants and one mixed race contestant have won after all.

I think you have a fair point about Michael and Carly's nationality.

Sadly I know a few people who have emigrated to the US as children and have left in early adulthood because they weren't embraced by the people in the way many would be led to believe.

She's the best female vocalist in the competition by miles and the best of the contestants left.

Lol! No, she isn't! Carly screams and doesn't sing. And she IS ugly! Ugly tats, bad teeth, and not a nice looking face, and heavy = ugly. Oh and she's dull, as well!

I am not at all surprised to see Michael go, 1 because he's not American and 2 because He is not all that.

But I do think that Jason should not be there out of the ones who are left he is by far the worst.

why is Kristy in there, when Michael isnt!?
