More questions about package migration

I am an old homechoice customer (silver STB). I received my letter and booklet today inviting me to upgrade to the new tiscali packages online. I would like to do this but I am a bit apprehensive due the difficulties experienced by some posters on this forum. Perhaps someone could help me clear up a few queries?

1) The booklet mentions a 'new customer code', 'new tiscali username', 'new password' and 'new tiscali email address' I understand that these were not sent out with the booklet. Do I get them once I upgrade online?

2) Can I keep my old homechoice email address as functional and set up a mail forwarder from the tiscali address to the homechoice address, to receive my electronic bills? The booklet implies this is possible - I really don't want to lose my homechoice email address.

3) Will my new tiscali email address be in the form: username@tiscali.co.uk?

4) Will I need to change any of my internet connection settings after the upgrade is completed? I currently use the LAN settings : proxy.homechoice.co.uk , port 3128, with 'automatically detect settings' DISABLED. Will any of that need changing? I presume outlook express settings will remain the same for my homechoice email address.

5) Someone also mentioned that DNS settings might need changing? How to I go about doing that?

6) How long should the TV/broadband outage last (how long before I should start to panic!)?

7) Will there be any outage in my telephone service?

8) Will the increased broadband speed, new channels and new telephone plan all be active once I reboot the STB after the outage?

9) I'd like to add caller display to my new tiscali package. Will this be charged at the 49p/month rate (line rental included in package) or the old homechoice rate (which was more expensive)? Do I need to actually talk to customer services to add caller display or can I do it online - if so, how? How long after adding caller display will it actually kick in?

10) Will I still receive the channel 'Dave' (previously UKTVG2) THROUGH MY PHONELINE after the upgrade (it is not mentioned as part of the 'TV variety pack', I don't have freeview access, and I do receive this channel currently on homechoice Base Pack)?

If anyone has any information at all on points 1-10, I would be very grateful for it.

1) Yes

2) Yes

3) Yes

4) No - I migrated on 10th, it was seamless.

6) I think mine was done overnight, but Tiscali said (somewhere, can't remember) outage could be about an hour???)

7) Ditto

9) You will see charges when you go thru the migration/upgrade package - I pay for 1571 but 1471 seems to be included in that, or it's free.

That's a start for you, I'm not techie enough to help on everything.
