Crackling speaker

i've just picked a pair of speakers up from a car booty but one of them's crackling. Is there anyway of fixing it??

Check all the soldering and renew where appropriate.

Failing that, replace the cone.

Probably not, I presume he meant replace the drive unit?.

Obviously the speakers were been sold because one was blown.

My bad I think.

I'm thinking of speaker units with 2/3 speakers in them and meaning to replace the one thats dud. I've just got into the habit of referring to each speaker in a unit like that as a cone.
