TV Problem - Can you diagnose please?

Hi,

I bought a cheapy 29in CRT TV for my apartment where I work abroad about a year ago. The tv has developed a problem. Worked fine the day before, switch on and have these distorted non-natural colours and sort of vague semi-circular bands. Guess it is some sort of magnetic issue - something failed inside. There are no magnets around the tv (only it's built in speakers).

Hope these imge links work. Many thanks for any ideas - appreciate will be a shop repair or throw away but helps if you have an idea what's wrong.

Most probably either a dry joint on the posistor, or the posistor is faulty (cracked inside), it may just need the dry joint resoldering, or the PCB repairing with a wire link (often it burns the copper off the board as it sparks).

Using an external deguassing coil could well provide a cure without taking the back off, but it's quite likely to happen again if not repaired.
